WATCH: Woke Congresswoman Has Berserk Meltdown in Congressional Hearing, Shouts and Tries to End Hearing after Scott Bessent Shuts Her Down to Her Face

In a notably contentious hearing of the Committee on Financial Services, far-left Democrat Joyce Beatty (OH) clashed with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Beatty’s tirade extended for nearly two minutes as she unleashed a series of dishonest criticisms against Bessent.

To provide context, during her impassioned speech, she berated Bessent for his refusal to acquiesce to her demands to feature Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, a long-standing initiative championed by liberals for the past three decades. These irrelevant comments underscore the woke left’s struggle to contend with a self-assured conservative.

Regardless, the hearing, which took place on May 7, 2025, commenced with a dialogue regarding the requirement for foreign businesses to file with federal agencies. The progressive Ohio Democrat initiated the discussion by asking, “Could you clarify for the American public how you undermine the bipartisan CTA and expect law enforcement and national security agencies to swiftly and effectively identify the true owners behind shell companies registered in the United States?”

Continuing her impassioned address, she sought to portray this reasonable stance as being lenient on crime. She asserted, “Currently, foreigners, including members of drug cartels and gang affiliates, can establish a company in the United States without any state or federal ownership reporting obligations. I remind you that in your testimony, you mentioned illicit actors? Well, these are some of our illicit actors!”

In response to her vitriol, delivered in a composed manner that effectively silenced her, Bessent stated, “Congresswoman, the vast majority of the domestic entities you’re referring to are diligent Americans operating small businesses.”

Irritated by his calm response, Beatty retaliated with an accusation. She interrupted, “So you’re implying that it’s not accurate that they must file and that foreign entities must file with the BOI.” Clearly frustrated, the treasury secretary replied, “Yes, we bifurcated. We bifurcated the CTA program so that domestic entities do not have to.

Recognizing that this approach was unproductive, the Democrat shifted to familiar woke rhetoric. Beatty interjected, “You can phrase it however you wish, but the response is no, and this simplifies matters, which is what I want the American people to understand. It facilitates operations for human and drug traffickers, cartels, terrorists, organizations, and other criminals within the United States.”

Continuing her exaggerated tirade, she lamented, “By restricting enforcement solely to foreign entities, you are excluding 99% of the entities that Congress aimed to include when the law was enacted. Therefore, I believe I have my answer. We simply do not concur on this matter, but we understand the reasons behind it.”

In conclusion of her disrespectful tirade, the progressive Democrat attempted to pose her final question while the chair was trying to restore order. She claimed, “So let me address my Congress. I mean, it’s my time. Allow me to proceed to my next question. The clock is ticking. He did not adhere to my allotted time, which was separate from his. In 2016, former Secretary Jack Lew declared that Harriet Tubman would be the new face of the $20 bill. Could you inform me of the current status of this initiative?” Annoyed, Bessent replied tersely, “No, ma’am, I cannot, but my staff will follow up with you.”
