Bongino Called Out Schiff Before Trump Appointed Him Deputy FBI Director

Dan Bongino criticized Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on his widely listened to podcast just days prior to President Donald Trump appointing him as deputy director of the FBI.

“Why is Adam Schiff so concerned? I strongly urge you to revisit the Russia collusion hoax today,” Bongino commenced during a segment.

After pointing out that the narrative is now several years old, Bongino remarked: “I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t want to move on.”

“We had the FBI, in collaboration with the Department of Justice, congressional officials, foreign governments, and intelligence personnel, fabricate a narrative, invent a story that could have caused and inflicted serious long-term damage to international relations with a nuclear-capable adversary,” he continued. “It’s quite a significant issue.”

“Pay attention — this will be very crucial in the upcoming days,” he proceeded, possibly hinting at his imminent appointment to the FBI.

“I’m not letting this matter slide. I want to uncover what transpired because it must never occur again. Not to a Democrat. Not to a Republican. Not to a Libertarian. Not to any citizen of the United States,” Bongino stated.

“You do not have the right to alter or attempt to change the trajectory of electoral politics by fabricating a narrative that hijacks the justice system, then attempts to lend an appearance of truth to a false story,” he elaborated. “You cannot do that.”

“Why do I mention this now? Because who was the orchestrator of that spectacle? Yes, Adam Schiff, and no, I’m not letting it go,” he concluded.

It is important to note that former President Joe Biden granted Schiff a pre-emptive pardon for his involvement in the Democrat-led Jan. 6 Commission, although he later described it as “unnecessary” and “unwise.”

“I still believe that granting pardons to a committee that undertook such significant work to uphold the law was unnecessary, and due to the precedent it sets, unwise,” Schiff stated. “However, I certainly comprehend why President Biden felt it was necessary to take this step.”

The pardons described as “full and unconditional” encompass any offenses related to the “activities or subject matter” of the committee and are not limited to a particular timeframe, as reported by The Hill. However, it remains uncertain — at this point — whether the pre-emptive pardon addresses any possible illegal actions that Schiff may have purportedly committed concerning his repeatedly false assertions that Trump was a Russian asset or that he was operating on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) presided over the committee, with former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) acting as vice chair. Other committee members included then-Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), Elaine Luria (D-Va.), and Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), along with current Reps. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.), and Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).

In a joint statement released on Monday, Thompson and Cheney remarked that they were pardoned “not for breaking the law but for upholding it.”

They stated, “These are indeed ‘extraordinary circumstances’ when public servants receive pardons to avert wrongful prosecution by the government for having diligently served as Members of Congress to reveal the truth of a prolonged criminal endeavor to undermine the voters’ will following the 2020 elections, including by inciting a violent insurrection to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power,” as noted in the statement shared on the social media platform X.
