Children\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 a role he scored only six months before \u2013 when he hit an emotional breaking point.<\/p>\n<p>The now 52-year-old\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/celebrity\/\">actor<\/a>\u00a0had surgery only two days after he was diagnosed with an aggressive testicular cancer and, for several months after filming all day, he received post-surgery radiation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-534edc4cb8e0ff2b49e58085f01e79b0\" class=\"newsner-534edc4cb8e0ff2b49e58085f01e79b0 newsner-incide_content_once\">\n<div I decide to be Maximus from\u00a0<em>Gladiator<\/em>,\u201d he said while hosting the March 20 episode of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/episode\/0OOEwSEy8hBHWISdZcoVSJ?si=6d7a54aa81d54f8f&amp;nd=1&amp;dlsi=358a05c5105f41e5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Let\u2019s Be Clear<\/a><\/em>, the podcast founded by the late\u00a0<em>Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em>\u00a0star Shannen Doherty.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking candidly, the\u00a0<em>Something Borrowed<\/em>\u00a0star explained his battle with testicular\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/cancer\/\">cancer<\/a>\u00a0moved rapidly \u2013 and despite his efforts to maintain a strong exterior, the emotional weight of the diagnosis took its toll.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-broke-down\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Broke down\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>He reached a breaking point when his shooting schedule changed, requiring him to shoot his character\u2019s scenes in the afternoon, which meant he had to re-arrange his radiation times.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-127764202\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-f0a1e4cd4abfac5dda2f6ffcdd6e3448\" class=\"newsner-f0a1e4cd4abfac5dda2f6ffcdd6e3448 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI scheduled my radiation treatment for the morning, so I went to that, and then I went to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One day, while filming on set, everything came crashing down for Egglesfield, who in 2005 was named one of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/three-time-cancer-survivor-colin-egglesfield-on-the-moment-he-broke-down-11700673\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>\u00a0magazine\u2019s \u201cSexiest Men Alive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started feeling tired and sluggish and just sweaty and hot, and I tried to do my scenes,\u201d the actor recalled. \u201cThe director at the time came up to me and he said, \u2018Colin, are you alright? You don\u2019t look so good.\u2019 And I immediately, I just broke down because I realized that I couldn\u2019t hold it in any longer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For three months, the\u00a0<em>Melrose Place<\/em>\u00a0actor kept his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/health\/\">treatment<\/a>\u00a0a secret, hoping he\u2019d come out the other end with no consequences to his career and personal lives.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcolinegglesfieldfanpage%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0woSUYMLiaUTajpjYq5WjA4uz2a3t8qz7YGkN8YZQo2qbaC2seZDQywSoxBRYwkhcl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"648\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t tell anyone at work \u2026 It\u2019s guy stuff, it\u2019s testicular cancer. And I finally realized I couldn\u2019t do this alone. I needed to tell people,\u201d he said of the moment when he finally felt the weight of secrecy lift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs soon as everyone found out at\u00a0<em>All My Children<\/em>, everyone showed up, and they offered to take me to my doctor\u2019s appointments, to go with me to help, to bring food to me, and it really helped make me feel supported to be able to go through this experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His journey wasn\u2019t over.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-courage\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Courage\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The next year, the Michigan-born learned the cancer had spread to his other testicle, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/parade.com\/news\/all-my-children-colin-egglesfield-prostate-cancer-diagnosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-space\" data-google-query-id=\"COTFxsPotIwDFR_LOwIdHU4AkQ\">\n<p>And most recently, the star shared that he had cancer a third time \u2013 this time, prostate cancer.<\/p>\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/colinegglesfieldfanpage\/posts\/its-not-the-hand-that-youve-been-dealt-because-you-cant-change-that-its-how-you-\/1259021078918239\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0post, Egglesfield shared with his followers some images that shows him in hospital, along with a message that explains he\u2019s decided to commit to \u201cresilience, faith, courage, grace and inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe beginning to this year hasn\u2019t been the easiest, but\u2026this is another opportunity to decide who I choose to be in the face of uncertainty and challenges in my most recent cancer diagnosis,\u201d he wrote on January 20, 2025, adding that he \u201celected to be proactive and have surgery.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-still-a-scary-experience\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Still a scary experience\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>In an update shared on February 24, Egglesfield announced he\u2019s \u201ccancer free for the third time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have to keep reminding myself that it\u2019s okay to feel scared and anxious and it\u2019s courageous to ask for help when you need it,\u201d he pens in the post.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the podcast, Egglesfield candidly shared that learning \u201cyou have cancer for a third time\u201d is \u201cstill a scary experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcolinegglesfieldfanpage%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02t6jQUgddyRKdL4qtiXUwSU61SDcmyZZLtbEzeysL9SuqNoTFXmxtcjSu95NpqeRtl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"616\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>\u201cBut what I\u2019ve realized again, through this third time of going through this, is that now I\u2019m more able and open to be able to communicate to people what I\u2019m going through and what I need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has been an incredible experience because so many people have been able to show up to support me along this journey,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, no matter where you are at or what you\u2019re dealing with, again, I would implore you to honor yourself, remember who you are and to ask for support when you need it.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-969781027\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-b1988426183d61377482d5ba6a128435\" class=\"newsner-b1988426183d61377482d5ba6a128435 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>Doubling down on his pre-surgery social media post, Egglesfield adds, \u201cIt is actually courageous, and it requires strength to ask for support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Colin Egglesfield\u2019s story is a testament to resilience, courage, and the importance of human connection.
