Despite her illness, she remained dedicated to her studies.<\/p>\n<p>Sandy Bell, the university\u2019s executive associate athletics director, remarked, \u201cKate was not only a great dancer but also a great student in the College of Nursing who took her work very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-3\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1761866\" data-uid=\"1199c\">\n<div id=\"mgw1761866_1199c\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"mgbox card-media\" data-template-type=\"container\">\n<div class=\"mgheader\">\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-3\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1761866\" data-uid=\"15dce\">\n<div id=\"mgw1761866_15dce\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"mgbox card-media\" data-template-type=\"container\">\n<div class=\"mgheader\">\n<p>Dawn Walters, head dance coach, added, \u201cHer smile could light up a room, and everyone on the UKDT loved her. We are all very sad about Kate\u2019s death.\u201dKate\u2019s parents, Holly and Steve, and her sister Abbey, will deeply miss her.
