This can create a honeycomb effect \u2013 a lumpy, swollen look that some have compared to the texture of reptile skin. And while the swelling is usually temporary, it\u2019s just the beginning of what can go wrong.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-social-media-hype\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Social media hype<\/h2>\n<p>Beauty influencers have flooded social media with videos showing \u201cinstant\u201d results, claiming mesotherapy is a safer, more affordable alternative to Botox or fillers.
