A second firearm found at the scene has already been dismissed as an unusable relic.<\/p>\n<p>The search, led jointly by Portuguese and German authorities, also yielded clothing, animal bones, and other items, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/35364358\/madeleine-mccann-cops-probe-gun-found-during-praia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Sun<\/a>. Contrary to earlier reports, these materials have not been sent to Germany; they remain in Portugal pending forensic examination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Portuguese team will first assess whether any of the findings are relevant to their investigation,\u201d a police source told media. \u201cOnly then will the results be shared with German authorities.
