She accused the company of allowing \u2018men\u2019 into a space that seems deemed should only be exclusive to cisgender women.<\/p>\n<p>The original picture seemed to show a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/transgender\/\">transgender<\/a>\u00a0woman as she was shaving over a sink in a locker room. The woman who took the picture ranted and raved in a video afterward about how upset she was. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/gentrywgevers\/status\/1769379114899660937?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">video<\/a>\u00a0ended up going viral and sparking a massive debate.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-147338\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095932\/shutterstock_573113698.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095932\/shutterstock_573113698.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095932\/shutterstock_573113698-768x512.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>What happened, as a result, was that the local Planet Fitness revoked her membership, while the transgender person who had been photographed by her was left alone. Planet Fitness also doubled down on its decision, saying that its policy allows people with certain gender identities to use whichever locked room they see fit.<\/p>\n<p>With that being said, they said people cannot act in bad faith, or their memberships could be canceled.<\/p>\n<p>However, now it seems there are more pictures of the trans woman who had been originally photographed going around as she uses the gym\u2019s locker room. People on the more conservative side of politics have called on others to cancel their Planet Fitness memberships nationwide.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-147339\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095937\/shutterstock_1355397068.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095937\/shutterstock_1355397068.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2024\/03\/22095937\/shutterstock_1355397068-768x576.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It seems this has had a big effect, as Planet Fitness\u2019s stock price has taken a big hit. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2024\/03\/21\/planet-fitness-stock-plummet-market-share-loss-transgender-woman-locker-room\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">market value has also plummeted<\/a>, with stocks going from $66 to about $56 over the course of just 12 days.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s market cap has also fallen around $400 million.
