Besides fame and fortune, the role would also lead her to meet the person she would marry.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 1994, when Candace was 18 years old,\u00a0she and her\u00a0<em>Full House\u00a0<\/em>co-stars attended a charity hockey game. NHL superstar Pavel Bure was playing, but Candace took more notice of his brother, Valeri, playing for the Montreal Canadiens at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Lori Loughlin\u00a0and I] were looking at these two cute men on the ice, and I was like, \u2018I wanna meet that one, the blonde one,\u2019 which was [Valeri],\u201d she said, per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/pictures\/candace-cameron-bure-valeri-bures-relationship-timeline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">US Magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She was instantly drawn to Valeri, and her co-star Dave Coulier introduced her to him. The rest is history. Candace was about to find out that Valeri already knew who she was.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe would watch \u2018Full House\u2019 because it helped him learn English,\u201d she said, laughing. \u201cWe hit it off.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-candace-cameron-bure-amp-valeri-bure\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Candace Cameron Bure &amp; Valeri Bure<\/h2>\n<p>The next day, Candace and Valeri went out on a date, and less than a year later, they were engaged. On June 22, 1996, the couple married. She moved to Canada with her husband, and soon after, the couple welcomed a daughter, Natasha. A few years later, she gave birth to sons Lev and Maksim.<\/p>\n<p>According to herself, Candace was a\u201d proud\u201d and\u201d overprotecting\u201d mother. While raising her children, she kept a close eye on their computers and cell phones.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so overly protective when it comes to technology because there are so many dangers associated with it,\u201d Candace told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/parents\/candace-cameron-bure-proud-to-be-an-overly-protective-mom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>\u00a0in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Valeri and Candace Cameron Bure have now been married for nearly 30 years. Candace and Valeri have had two very different careers, but have always made sure to save time for each other. Since their days as newlywed teenagers, the couple still holds love for each other. However, it hasn\u2019t been an easy ride.<\/p>\n<p>On her latest episode of her podcast,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/the-candace-cameron-bure-podcast\/id1649600581?i=1000716291147\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast<\/a><\/em>, Candace reveals that she and her husband almost called it quits five years ago, just before the pandemic hit the world. She explained they went through a \u201creally rough season\u201d in their marriage in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was going south quickly,\u201d she said, \u201cand we were like, \u2018I don\u2019t know, don\u2019t think \u2026 we\u2019re gonna make it through.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-candace-cameron-bure-says-she-and-her-husband-almost-divorced-before-pandemic\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Candace Cameron Bure says she and her husband almost divorced before pandemic<\/h2>\n<p>But help came from an unexpected direction. Candace Cameron Bure continued by revealing that it was one of her sons, Lev, who actually helped save their marriage<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt one point, Lev, Maks and Natasha, but Lev was the one leading the charge. He came up to us and said, \u2018We\u2019d like to talk to you guys,&#8217;\u201d she recalled. \u201cVal and I sat down and Lev preached, like, a 45-minute sermon on marriage to us. Just had his Bible open on the couch and just talked about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added, \u201cAnd I\u2019ll never forget, \u2019cause he said, \u2018You know, I know I haven\u2019t been married. I\u2019m just a young kid. And so it\u2019s probably hard to take marriage advice from someone this young [who] never experienced it before. But I don\u2019t need to be married to know what the word of God says.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former\u00a0<em>Full House<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Fuller House<\/em>\u00a0star explained that Lev had \u201csuch a calm voice that had so much wisdom behind it,\u201d as he sat his parents down to talk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe looked us straight in the eye and individually asked me and then asked Val, \u2018Have you done everything you can? Is there one step of grace, is there just some bit of more grace you can give? Is there one more act of kindness in you that you could give to try to reconcile?&#8217;\u201d Candace continued. \u201cWhen we walked away from that and Val and I were like, \u2018Huh, we raised some pretty good kids.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-son-lev-saved-their-marriage\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Son Lev saved their marriage<\/h2>\n<p>Lev\u2019s advice became a \u201cpivotal moment\u201d in Candace Cameron Bure and Valeri\u2019s marriage. She further said on her podcast that it \u201creally changed their dynamig,\u201d that she is \u201cso grateful\u201d for her children being so supportive.<\/p>\n<p>Their son, Lev, also appeared on the podcast, explaining how and why he decided to act when he saw his parents\u2019 marriage heading downward.
