While she had remained quiet about her political agendas at the beginning of her career, everything changed in 2018 when she decided to endorse a Democratic candidate in the US Senate election in Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that Swift decided to speak out about who she was voting for \u2013 and that it was a Democrat \u2013 caused\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0to see red. Some days later, Trump was asked about Swift\u2019s endorsement at the White House.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sure Taylor Swift doesn\u2019t know anything about [Blackburn],\u201d Trump answered. \u201cI like Taylor\u2019s music about 25% less now, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This was not the first and only time Swift and Trump\u2019s beef would be aired in public. In a 2019 interview with\u00a0The Guardian, the superstar described the atmosphere in the US as \u201cgaslighting the American public into being like, \u2018If you hate the president, you hate America&#8217;\u201d and claimed that Trump believed they weren\u2019t living in a democracy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re a democracy \u2013 at least, we\u2019re supposed to be \u2013 where you\u2019re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate. I really think that he thinks this is an autocracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-taylor-swift-s-relationship-with-trump\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Taylor Swift\u2019s relationship with Trump<\/h2>\n<p>The feud between Trump and Taylor Swift continued, with the singer lashing out at many of the president\u2019s decisions during his first presidential term. When Trump later decided to run for president a second time in 2023, he embraced the song\u00a0<em>Justice for All<\/em>, which was sung by a group of dissidents who had been incarcerated over their alleged roles on January 6.<\/p>\n<p>It was played at many of Trump\u2019s rallies in 2023 and eventually reached the No. 1 spot on iTunes. Later the same year, during a rally in Houston, Donald Trump mentioned the song and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt beat Taylor Swift, it beat Miley Cyrus, who was number one and two,\u201d Trump\u00a0said. \u201cThey were number one and two, we knocked them off for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t a big surprise that Swift would endorse Joe Biden for the 2024 Presidential Election, and even though she never did it publicly, the picture was quite clear. Even so, Trump decided to take a shot at Swift, claiming credit for the 2018 Music Modernization Act. He further stated that the superstar singer would not endorse Biden\u2019s re-election bid.<\/p>\n<p>When Swift later endorsed Kamala Harris, Trump wrote on TruthSocial, \u201cI HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-melania-trump-says-taylor-swift-is-very-talented\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Melania Trump says Taylor Swift is \u201cvery talented<\/h2>\n<p>While Donald Trump has lashed out against the superstar several times, his wife and the First Lady of the United States,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/melania-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melania Trump<\/a>, has not made any comments about Swift. However, while visiting a children\u2019s hospital in Washington on July 2, where she brought gifts to the kids and had a quick chat, her true feelings about Taylor Swift became apparent.<\/p>\n<p>Melania asked a little girl about what music she liked, to which she responded \u201cTaylor Swift,\u201d the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/03\/us-news\/melania-trump-talks-taylor-swift-july-4-plans-with-sick-kids-at-dc-hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">NY Post<\/a>\u00a0reported.
