A swimming instructor says there is one thing all parents need to make sure they don\u2019t do.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She posted a video about pool safety, which quickly became popular on TikTok. In the comments area, several parents flocked to express their gratitude for her insight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pool Safety Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most parents place learning to swim at the top of their list of lessons they want their children to learn. Your kids will face several perils as they discover the various facets of life, though. Several methods can be used to improve kid\u2019s pool safety, especially when they\u2019re starting to swim.<\/p>\n

These will guarantee that your child has a fun and safe swimming experience that will last them their entire lives. Many other factors go into pool safety, but most people feel it mostly pertains to when your child is in the water. Most parents aren\u2019t even aware of the risks waiting for their kids outside.<\/p>\n

Nikki Scarnati, a certified swimming teacher, has released videos of her young kids learning to swim in a secure atmosphere on TikTok under the name @scarnati.swim. In addition, she provides films with pool safety advice that parents can use at home.<\/p>\n

When parents wrap their kids in towels after they exit the pool, they run one of the biggest risks. Children often become quite chilly very quickly and shiver violently before going to their parents. To keep them warm, a parent\u2019s immediate reaction is to wrap them in a towel. They are putting their kids in danger, but they are unaware of it.<\/p>\n

Do Not Wrap Your Child in a Towel<\/strong><\/p>\n

She created a TikTok video in which she contrasted the way parents typically wrap their kids in towels with their natural instincts. Your child is at risk of drowning if they are wrapped in a towel and wrapped over their shoulders, per Nikki\u2019s pool safety advice.<\/p>\n

She starts off the video with her own child in the clip.\u00a0\u201cHey guys<\/em>,\u201d she says.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m going to show you the proper way to put a towel around your child. I see it happen so many times, and I myself, as a parent, did it without even realizing it was a thing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

She began by demonstrating to her audience how parents \u201cnaturally\u201d desire to round their children\u2019s arms with the towel. Quickly, she responds, \u201cNo.\u201d She then demonstrates the safer way to wrap your kids up in a towel for the pool, which is the next thing she does. She instructs her child to raise her arms so she can wrap her in the towel with her arms free.<\/p>\n

Nikki explains that this way, your child will be able to use their arms to swim to safety should they fall in the pool.\u00a0\u201cPut the towel underneath their arms,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0says Nikki.\u00a0\u201cThat way, if they end up in the water they still have access to their limbs to self-rescue and they\u2019re that much safer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Comments on Nikki\u2019s Pool Safety Tip<\/strong><\/p>\n

One person asked what happens if their child moves the towel to cover her shoulders if she\u2019s cold. Nikkie replied: \u201cYou can wrap it and tuck it in the back so they can still move. Or opt for a different style towel or a Teri cloth towel robe.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n

One person commented on another benefit to this tip from Nikki:\u00a0\u201cAlso- if they trip, they can catch themselves before hitting the ground.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0While many others agreed and applauded her for the great tip in pool safety. One said,\u00a0\u201cGood tip thank u<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
