The singer is known as one of the best talents the show has ever found.<\/p>\n<p>However, as amazing as her career has gone, her relationship with Brandon Blackstock \u2013 the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire \u2013 was filled with just as much emotion and unexpected twists as her biggest hits.<\/p>\n<p>The singer of \u201cA Moment Like This\u201d and her former manager, who wed in 2013, seemed to be the ultimate duo and fans couldn\u2019t get enough of their chemistry, both on and off stage.<\/p>\n<p>But, in June 2020, the 42-year-old filed for divorce after nearly seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, an insider told Page Six that the hitmaker \u201cfelt single\u201d when she was married to Blackstock, 48.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs time went on in their marriage, Kelly didn\u2019t feel like she had a partner,\u201d the source explains. \u201cKelly felt single in a lot of ways even while she and Brandon were still married.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Divorce battle<br \/>\nWhat followed was a messy legal battle that included disputes over finances, custody of their two children \u2013 daughter River, 10, and son Remington, 8 \u2013 and ownership of their $10.4 million Montana ranch.<\/p>\n<p>The sprawling estate, which features rustic log cabins, lush pastures, and breathtaking mountain views, is the kind of place that screams relaxation, creativity, and some horseback riding.<\/p>\n<p>The ranch was purchased during Kelly Clarkson and Blackstock\u2019s marriage, making it a key asset in their high-profile divorce. While Clarkson envisioned the property as a retreat, Reba McEntire\u2019s former stepson Blackstock saw it as his dream ranching headquarters \u2013 a clash that would spark a drawn-out legal battle.<\/p>\n<p>Marital property<br \/>\nBlackstock, who shifted his career focus from managing artists to becoming a full-time rancher, argued that relocating would disrupt his lifestyle and plans.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, a judge ruled that the ranch belonged to Kelly Clarkson, citing her prenuptial agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Court further finds that the Montana Ranch and the other two Montana properties are not titled in both of the Parties\u2019 names either as joint tenants with right of survivorship or as tenants by the entireties, as required under the PMA to create marital property,\u201d People reports of the court documents. \u201cThe Court therefore rejects Respondent\u2019s [Blackstock\u2019s] position that the Montana Ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50\/50 by the Parties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The decision was a major win for the pop powerhouse, but there was one problem: Blackstock wasn\u2019t leaving. Despite the court\u2019s ruling, he stayed put, claiming he needed time to relocate his burgeoning ranching business.<\/p>\n<p>To stay on the property, Blackstock was required to pay $12,500 in monthly rent and in June 2022, he finally vacated.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Wanted to make it beautiful\u2019<br \/>\nThe host of the Kelly Clarkson Show was awarded primary physical custody of the two children and is now living in New York. And in 2023, Blackstock was ordered to pay his ex-wife $2,641,374 for \u201coverstepping in his managerial role and unlawfully procuring deals,\u201d according to People.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the thing about divorce \u2013 especially having it publicized, and people thinking they know the whole thing \u2013 the hardest part of that is, like, it wasn\u2019t an overnight decision.\u201d The \u201cStronger\u201d singer told People. \u201cI wanted to make it beautiful. I wanted to make it awesome. I wanted to make it everything it possibly could be, and sometimes that just doesn\u2019t happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ranching headquarters<br \/>\nNow Blackstock is still living the cowboy life in Montana. The famous singer\u2019s ex-husband founded Valley View Rodeo in 2023, \u201ca multi-faceted organization dedicated to keeping the western lifestyle alive in the modern day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And, his executive assistant is Brittany Jones, who according to her LinkedIn \u201cmanaged day to day for artist, Kelly Clarkson under manager, Brandon Blackstock in Los Angeles for music and television.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones\u2019 profile also shares that \u201cafter a change in management for Ms. Clarkson,\u201d she \u201ctransitioned to Executive Assistant for Mr. Blackstock\u2019s cattle operation in Montana\u201d where she runs \u201cthe office and administration work,\u201d and fulfills \u201cpersonal assistant duties for Mr. Blackstock.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What are your thoughts on Clarkson and Blackstock\u2019s long divorce battle?
