The Brazilian has spent her life covering her skin in SPF100 sunscreens \u2013 even when she\u2019s inside her home \u2013 due to her rare skin condition.<\/p>\n<p><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B3kVU1znZJl\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=1280&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fmodishtips.com&amp;rp=%2Farchives%2F14576#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1545.0999999940395%7D\" height=\"1237\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The 33-year-old was diagnosed with Xeroderma Pigmentosum when she was three years old which means she is at high risk of skin cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Her \u201done-in-a-million\u201d condition, which is incurable, means she is highly sensitive to UV rays as she lacks the ability to repair any damage the sun causes to her skin.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few minutes in the sun can mean incredibly painful sunburn for her. Growing up, she was often isolated from the outside world because it was too dangerous for her to spend too much time outside her house.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I expose myself to the sun it doesn\u2019t happen in the moment, I don\u2019t feel anything. However, in the future, the lesions appear and need to be removed because of cancer,\u201d she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zXmd4LHk_tk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">says<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-1\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CR_io80rMQ3\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=1280&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fmodishtips.com&amp;rp=%2Farchives%2F14576#%7B%22ci%22%3A1%2C%22os%22%3A1547.7000000029802%7D\" height=\"1240\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-1\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Karine has had to endure 130 surgical procedures to remove lesions caused by the sun, including the removal of her lower lip and part of her nose.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, it is not only a physical battle she has to endure.
