to \u2018investigate\u2019 the disability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">71-year-old Kennedy Jr has said he believed \u2018certain interventions\u2019 are triggering autism spectrum disorder (ASD),\u00a0suggesting the condition is preventable.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"daily-n.com_responsive_2\" data-google-query-id=\"CNn89Nb6zI8DFZTaDQkdg4k7Yg\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/23207117756\/daily-n.com\/daily-n.com_responsive_2_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">ASD, a lifelong developmental condition that an estimated one in 31\u00a0children\u00a0has, is thought to be over three times more common among boys than girls,\u00a0according to\u00a0the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Studies have found ASD exists within all socioeconomic, racial and ethnic groups and, despite\u00a0conspiracy theorists\u2019 claims, there is extensive existing research via Getty Images)<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">In April, RFK Jr, who has served as\u00a0US President Donald Trump\u2019s Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary since February, said that he and his team would get to the root of the so-called \u2018autism epidemic\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">He alleged \u2018hundreds of scientists\u2019 would be studying the apparent cause of ASD and that the HHS would \u2018eliminate\u2019 anything found to be causing autism,\u00a0as per\u00a0ABC News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The father-of-six also claimed that he believed autism was \u2018coming from an\u00a0environmental\u00a0toxin\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">He alleged: \u201cSomebody made it and put that environmental toxin into our air or water or\u00a0medicines\u00a0or\u00a0food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">In a new update, the health secretary confirmed findings are still on track to be presented at a news conference scheduled for sometime this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Speaking on August 26, the politician said: \u201cWe\u2019re finding interventions, certain interventions now that are clearly, almost certainly causing autism.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cAnd we\u2019re going to be able to address those in September.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">However,\u00a0according to\u00a0CNN Health, the proposed autism studies had not actually started as of today (September 4).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Trump
