(Photo by London Entertainment\/GC Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier this week, a close friend of Keaton\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/10\/15\/diane-keaton-struggled-illness-before-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">revealed to TMZ\u00a0<\/a>that the star had been sick for a while with an unnamed illness, and that her passing was \u201cnot a shock\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Just what the \u2018unnamed illness\u2019 in question might be hasn\u2019t been clarified, but now a new report from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/entertainment-news\/diane-keatons-secret-battle-dementia-exclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NewsNation<\/a>\u00a0claims that Keaton was living with dementia for years.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, the condition affected Keaton\u2019s ability to remember her lines, with the actress having her words fed to her through an earpiece in 2022 while filming the rom-com\u00a0<em>Maybe I Do<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was so sad,\u201d an on-set source claimed, as per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/p\/diane-keaton-dementia-battle-suffered-from-disease-years-before-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">RadarOnline.com<\/a>. \u201c(Co-star)\u00a0William H.
