She recently recalled a warning her husband\u2019s neurologist had given her when he was diagnosing Bruce: to remember to take care of herself as well.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-1f5e60e82a5beec8bbebd831b965b707\" class=\"newsner-1f5e60e82a5beec8bbebd831b965b707 newsner-incide_content_once\">\n<div id=\"newsner-1664220586\" class=\"newsner-incide_content_once\">\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails\" class=\"trc_related_container tbl-trecs-container trc_spotlight_widget\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cCaregiving can be really harmful to your health,\u201d she recently\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tfkRYH9ZfCY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">recalled<\/a>\u00a0being told. \u201cI didn\u2019t know that, and I was grateful, yet alarmed, that his neurologist shared that with me, and that was a call for me to start taking care of myself, not just for\u00a0Bruce\u00a0but for our two young daughters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the first signs of his dementia diagnosis was the return of a childhood stutter. This wrongly led to doctors assuming he might be suffering from aphasia, a language disorder resulting from damage to the brain\u2019s language centers. The most common cause for this is a stroke, which impacts a person\u2019s ability to read, ride, and understand.<\/p>\n<p>Emma revealed the shock the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/diagnosis\/\">diagnosis<\/a>\u00a0had caused her. Emma revealed, \u201cBruce had a severe stutter when he was a child that he held onto, actually, his life, but was able to kind of get a handle on it, I think, in his adult years. Then I started seeing that it started coming back. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that was now becoming a symptom of FTD.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Emma however took everything in her stride but the diagnosis was devastating for Willis\u2019 youngest two children, Mabel, 13 and Evelyn, 11. The two young girls watched their father\u2019s health deteriorate within months.<\/p>\n<p>Emma\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com.au\/culture\/features\/emma-heming-willis-on-grief-love-and-dementia-this-is-bigger-than-bruce-and-its-bigger-than-my-story\/news-story\/1cf17bc4068bd4c8e36e398c39bb3b63\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">admitted<\/a>\u00a0that her daughters began grieving their father and that they missed who he was prior to his illness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey miss their dad so much,\u201d she\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unilad.com\/celebrity\/news\/bruce-willis-wife-worrying-warning-neurologist-dementia-597770-20251030?fbclid=IwY2xjawNxc71leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFYZXU3RWt0eXU2UkV4alJLAR6bDzIhcSrY7NmJ2TcUKuKeU5sMs4bP8YK4Qk-VMcPfG1fOCcFu6ZtI6O6DYA_aem_90giIYMFU5bFHKS0EUwhnA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0in the interview. \u201cHe\u2019s missing important milestones. That\u2019s tough for them. But kids are resilient. [Although] I used to hate hearing that because people didn\u2019t understand what we were walking through. I don\u2019t know if my kids will ever bounce back. But they\u2019re learning, and so am I.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is so heartbreaking.
