Kepner\u2019s family reported her dead. According to authorities, including the FBI, her is being investigated; however, no details surrounding it have yet been released.<\/p>\n<p>The teenager\u2019s family spoke to the media about her. \u201cShe was a people person,\u201d they\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/passenger-died-carnival-cruise-ship-identified-18-year\/story?id=127365664\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0in a statement. It went on, \u201cshe loved being around people. She had that type of energy that just drew you in with her smile and the way she carried herself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was such an easy person to talk to,\u201d they shared about the late\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/teen\/\">teen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kepner was a member of the school\u2019s varsity cheerleading team and was set to graduate high school in May of next year with plans of joining the military after.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe had just finished taking the test to join the military,\u201d her family shared. \u201cShe was already talking to recruiters and had chosen her career path. She wanted to do something that would help her community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carnival\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/cruise\/\">Cruise<\/a>\u00a0Line also confirmed that a passenger had died on board. They issued a statement on the matter saying, \u201cSince this is an ongoing matter under the jurisdiction of law enforcement, all media inquiries need to be directed to the FBI\u2019s Miami public affairs office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur focus is on supporting the family of our guest and cooperating with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/fbi\/\">FBI<\/a>,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI said to the media that it had responded to the scene, with Special Agent Willie Creech declining to comment further on the case. Creech\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/fbi-investigating-death-of-passenger-aboard-carnival-cruise-ship-11846415\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cBecause this is an ongoing matter, no further information is available at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As news of Kepner\u2019s death was revealed, her last post to social media started making rounds. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/teenager\/?page=5\">teenager<\/a>\u00a0had posted on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@fl.anna18\/photo\/7567032737291308319\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TikTok a bathroom-mirror selfie<\/a>\u00a0in which the text read, \u201cYou deserve to be happy, but if it ain\u2019t with me, then nvm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The high school senior concluded her post with a light-hearted, \u201cHaha I\u2019m not kidding,\u201d adding the hashtags \u2018#comeherebae\u2019 and \u2018#funny\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Her school paid tribute to the late student, with a teacher from Temple Christian School writing a sweet note about her, saying the teenager \u201cbrought warmth and energy into the classroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour curiosity, your gentle spirit, and the way you cared for those around you made a lasting impression on me and on everyone who knew you,\u201d she went on. \u201cI will miss you poking your head in my office to say hello and that turning into a fun 15-minute conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her family is still trying to process what happened, saying that \u201cWe\u2019ll always remember her for who she was.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is such a heartbreaking tragedy.
