Moments later, she warmly welcomed a well-dressed couple and handed them a room key.The man, Patrick Mahomes, a world-famous football star and entrepreneur, left quietly, knowing prejudice when he saw it. That night, he decided to buy the struggling hotel. By morning, Patrick owned the Royal Beacon Hotel. Dressed sharply, he returned, commanding respect. Marissa froze as he approached. \u201cI\u2019m Patrick Mahomes, the new owner,\u201d he announced, his calm voice unyielding. \u201cLast night, I was turned away despite available rooms.
