God bless our Great National Guard, and all of our Military and Law Enforcement,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cThese are truly Great People. I, as President of the United States, and everyone associated with the Office of the Presidency, am with you!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to BBC News, the Trump administration filed an emergency motion aimed at keeping National Guard troops in DC. Trump also asked Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to send 500 more National Guard troops to the nation\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Multiple law-enforcement officials have identified the suspected gunman as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to sources who spoke with ABC News, Lakanwal arrived in the United States from Afghanistan in September 2021.
