Booker, meanwhile, celebrated her triumph.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-181238 entered lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/11\/27120952\/Screenshot-2025-11-27-at-12.09.45.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"532\" height=\"738\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2025\/11\/27120952\/Screenshot-2025-11-27-at-12.09.45.png\" data-ll-status=\"loaded\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Booker was stripped of her title. Credit: Instagram \/ Jammie Booker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A debate has played out since then relating to Booker\u2019s gender after a YouTube video from 2017 surfaced appeared to confirm that the competitor was born a biological male.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TSLbxvUyL-w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">video<\/a>\u00a0in question, said to be uploaded to Booker\u2019s own YouTube channel, saw the strongwoman state: \u201cEveryone is dying to tell their own story, and I am obviously no exception to that.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-space\" data-google-query-id=\"COXXiLjYk5EDFcQ8BgAd6mAtVA\">\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a 21-year-old trans woman with a history of abuse, struggling to stay true to herself while under the rule of her religious parents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of that admission there were widespread calls for Booker to be stripped of her new title. According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strongmanarchives.com\/viewAthlete.php?id=3074\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Strongman Archives<\/a>, Booker had not competed in a women\u2019s event prior to June 2025, when she turned out at the Rainier Classic-Pro-Am.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRfF_A5jbUl\/?igsh=dDlub2s5NGIyMGgw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Official Strongman<\/a>\u00a0later declared on social media that they were unaware of the allegations before the event, stating it \u201cappears that an athlete who is biologically male and who now identifies as female competed in the Women\u2019s Open category\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The organization added that Booker would not have been allowed to compete in the competition had they known about the state of affairs, revealing that she had since been disqualified.<\/p>\n<p>The statement continued: \u201cAny athlete is welcome. But it is our responsibility to ensure fairness and ensure athletes are assigned to men\u2019s or women\u2019s categories based on whether they are recorded as male or female at birth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven this, we have disqualified the athlete in question from the Official Strongman World Championships 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll athlete points and places will be altered accordingly to ensure that the rightful places are allocated to each of the Women\u2019s Open athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A byproduct of the ruling means that Thompson is now the event\u2019s recognized winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat should be a momentous occasion has sadly been overshadowed by scandal and dishonesty from someone who was welcomed into our crazy sport,\u201d Thompson wrote in a statement on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA sport which encourages women to celebrate themselves without being judged on how society says they should be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can honestly say that no one, including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/officialstrongmangames\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">@officialstrongmangames<\/a>\u00a0team, had any clue what was about to transpire.
