The reason why was because he was diagnosed with Pfeiffer Syndrome Type 2, a genetic\u00a0disorder characterized by the premature fusion of certain skull bones which prevents the skull from growing normally and affects the shape of the head and face.<\/p>\n<p>The devastated parents learned the news of their son\u2019s condition two weeks before he was welcomed into the world as the ultrasound showed abnormalities. As expected, they got extremely worried and felt as though their world shattered into a million pieces.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-9\">\n<div id=\"tinyhouse-zone.com_responsive_2\" data-google-query-id=\"CNjd4dLVypEDFeNZ9ggd0ZIn3w\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/23201474937\/tinyhouse-zone.com\/tinyhouse-zone.com_responsive_2_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI mean, he\u2019s kicking in my belly and I\u2019m praying for God to take him home,\u201d mom Cheri\u00a0told\u00a0<em>News Nation Now\u00a0<\/em>in 2020, adding, \u201cIt looked like he was not going to have the back of his head. It looked like he was going to be born with teeth. The prognosis were that he wouldn\u2019t live beyond 18 months.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1718056\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-10\">\n<div id=\"tinyhouse-zone.com_responsive_3\" data-google-query-id=\"CIesoNPVypEDFU5E9ggd0zonDQ\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/23201474937\/tinyhouse-zone.com\/tinyhouse-zone.com_responsive_3_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI said dear God please, just let me have him for a little while,\u201d Cheri said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"weverydaystories.com_responsive_1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a picture of him when he was born and it shows his skull very well, a distinct clover shape,\u201d Cheri shared with\u00a0<em>The Owensboro Times<\/em>, adding: \u201cAt a month old they let us bring him home. He was not thriving, they knew he was not going to make it. Unexpectedly, he started showing signs of progression.<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cHe had over 30 surgeries, got a tracheotomy at just 3 months old, and once had a procedure done with a 10% survival rate,\u201d Cheri said. \u201cWe had to sign the DNR papers, say our goodbyes and everything. Instead of bad news, the doctors came out and said he was okay.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1718056\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cAnything a mother doesn\u2019t want to hear is what they told us. It\u2019s amazing with faith in God what you can get through. Anyone who knew us or knew of us were praying for us,\u201d Cheri added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-5\">\n<div id=\"weverydaystories.com_responsive_1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php%3Ffbid%3D705353357057438%26set%3Da.121897035403076%26type%3D3&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"497\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"500\" data-origheight=\"497\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1718056\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Besides all the love and support by his parents and his family, there was also another person who showed immense support and helped Braden every step of the way, a nurse named Michele Eddings Linn.<\/p>\n<p>One time, when he almost lost his life, it was Linn who was by his side. \u201cI just remember, you know, praying, \u2018Lord just either take him home or make him better,\u2019\u201d\u00a0Linn recalled.\u00a0\u201cBecause no one could watch him continue to go through this.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Luckily, he pulled through and Linn said that Braden has been the only patient of hers who ever got to leave hospice care.<\/h2>\n<p>Believe it or not, Braden thrived and he even got to graduate from high school. On the day of his graduation, he asked Linn to take his photos, and it was an emotional moment for everyone who got to witness it.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcheri.west.549%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02PzzGZGNXaq1HmSGzLQggW3h9pFTuXCdpkKdfCJfFA3XaZdd2eUDRAWgL9nc1Hyhvl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"645\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-origwidth=\"500\" data-origheight=\"645\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>17 years ago I cried because I thought his time on Earth was ending,\u00a0and now I\u2019m crying because he is graduating [from] high school and his life is just beginning!,\u201d\u00a0Linn\u00a0wrote\u00a0on a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo watch him become this amazing young man has been emotional, but yet I\u2019m so proud,\u201d mom Cheri told\u00a0<em>The Epoch Times.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was watching him walk the line, every emotion of the first few months of his life came flooding back.
