A woman has sparked a massive debate after posting her family holiday card online. Influencer Amanda Cooper and her siblings discreetly flipped off the camera when the picture was taken, but the photo has left many angry. Now, Cooper shares her take on the controversial holiday card.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taking family portraits is always a fun way to remember those big gatherings. For some, they only occur a few times a year. While it\u2019s a lot of fun taking these pictures, looking back on them years later \u2013 seeing how people change their style, grow younger or older \u2013 makes it much easier to remember.<\/p>\n

Also, it\u2019s a great way to give the younger generation a peek at how their uncles, aunts, grandparents, or even parents used to look.<\/p>\n

For Amanda Cooper and her mother, Melynda King, taking family portraits has always been fun. Speaking to\u00a0Today<\/a>, Cooper said her mother takes it quite seriously, as she last year \u201cwent to Home Depot and bought paint sample cards of the colors that we were all allowed to wear.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the large family had taken this year\u2019s holiday photo, Amanda Cooper, an influencer with around 30,000 Instagram followers, decided to share it online. However, one detail sparked a major debate.<\/p>\n

Amanda Cooper and her siblings flipped off the camera for holiday photo prank<\/h2>\n

Cooper\u00a0shared three pictures<\/a>, with some zoomed in, showing how several of her family members flipped off the camera. Cooper\u2019s brother-in-law suggested they use the code word hippopotamus.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo right before the middle finger picture, I called out, \u2018Everyone say, \u2018I want a hippopotamus for Christmas!\u201d Amanda said, adding that she gave her mom a heads-up before posting it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get this text from Amanda and it just said, \u2018I\u2019m going to apologize in advance for the reel I just posted,\u201d Melynda recalled her daughter saying. \u201cThen I look at the video and I burst out laughing. I thought it was absolutely hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amanda posted the pictures with a text, reading, \u201cWhen your mom\/mother-in-law makes you take professional family pictures 3 times a year\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

It contained several close-ups from different angles, revealing how they subtly flipped off the camera. The caption read, \u201cSomeday we will be grateful for all the family pictures.\u201d<\/p>\n

Internet is left divided over prank<\/h2>\n

The photo went viral, and the comment section was filled with opinions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is terrific. All in good fun,\u201d one user wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love a family with a sense of humor and thety apperently have it,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n

A third recalled, \u201cI did this when I was 10 yrs old because I didn\u2019t like the way my mom did my hair. It\u2019s been 30 years and she still hasn\u2019t caught it.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, others weren\u2019t amused by Amanda\u2019s prank. Some users found it appalling.<\/p>\n

Father says it\u2019s \u201cthe best family picture\u201d they ever too<\/h2>\n

A third stated, \u201cTalk about passive aggressive! Man! Not cool at all!,\u201d while a fourth shared, \u201cIt\u2019s so sad. Wish I could go back and take family photos with my parents, and here you are being complete A holes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Some came to Amanda\u2019s defense, with one saying, \u201cI promise you the photographer didn\u2019t take only this one picture.\u201d Another said, \u201cI\u2019m sure they have a nice shot & this is their not so nice shot. Lighten up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another user commented, \u201cThese are digital and they took many you think they did this for all of them?! These comments are so dramatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to Today, Amanda Cooper said she was in shock at the backlash she received for posting a video of them giving the bird. She made sure to let everyone know that it wasn\u2019t just a single photo, but that they behaved in other shots.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got my nice Christmas card,\u201d Amanda\u2019s mother said. \u201cBut my husband wants me to send the middle finger one to our best friends. He thinks it\u2019s the best family picture we\u2019ve ever taken.\u201d<\/p>\n
