So you won\u2019t see me really walking immediately, but I\u2019m excited.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_13-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">The camera then cuts to Kate taking a few steps toward the elevators with the help of her crutches, practicing with only one crutch while holding on to a metal bar, and undergoing extensive physical therapy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_15-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cThis is gonna take longer than I thought,\u201d she admitted. \u201cI\u2019m eating my words.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_20-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">In December, Kate detailed how she fractured her leg. She and her boyfriend,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/kate-gosselin-receiving-extra-love-from-boyfriend-after-knee-surgery-11826956\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">Steve Neild<\/a>, were taking the dogs for a walk when everything went wrong.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_21-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_22-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cMy boyfriend threw the ball and she came running for it and she was running at the absolute speed of light and I stepped the wrong way,\u201d she explained of her dog Meika while on TikTok Live on Sept. 30. \u201cI tried to get out of the way and she ran into the side of my leg, my knee, at top speed. The surgeon said it was life-altering issues. That was his opening line this morning at 5 a.m.: \u2018So this is one of those things that is a life-altering event.\u2019 I was like, he\u2019s got my attention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_33-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">A few days after undergoing surgery, the former reality star was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/kate-gosselin-discharged-from-hospital-talks-overwhelming-recovery-11823889\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">discharged from the hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_34-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\"><\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_35-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">\u201cI\u2019m finally heading home,\u201d she shared in an Oct. 2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@kate.gosselin\/video\/7556770536320142622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">TikTok video<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve had pain meds to make the ride more bearable. We\u2019re just taking all our stuff to the car first because I\u2019ve accumulated quite the equipment and supplies. It\u2019s all hitting me now getting discharged instructions, hearing all my meds and all the appointments I have to make and what\u2019s going to happen at my next appointment and all that. It\u2019s a lot.
