Actress Helen Siff, known for roles in films including\u00a0The Karate Kid\u00a0<\/em>(1984),\u00a0Don\u2019t Mess with the Zohan<\/em>\u00a0(2008) and\u00a0Hail, Caesar!<\/em>\u00a0(2016) has died at the age of 88.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The late performer\u2019s family confirmed that she passed away in Los Angeles after a long battle with a \u201cpainful illness\u201d on Thursday, December 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who worked with Helen knew her not just as a talented performer, but as someone who brought professionalism, dedication and genuine kindness to every set,\u201d the family said in a statement shared with the\u00a0Hollywood Reporter.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cShe understood that every role, no matter how large or small, was an opportunity to contribute something meaningful to the story being told.\u201d<\/p>\n

Siff, born in Woodmere, New York,\u00a0in 1937, had more than 70 on-screen credits to her name across TV and film spanning the last five decades, working alongside the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, James Caan, George Clooney, Adam Sandler and Sylvester Stallone.<\/p>\n

The actress played a cashier in John G. Avildsen\u2019s\u00a0The Karate Kid<\/em>, and had roles in\u00a0Earth Girls Are Easy<\/em>,\u00a0Pee-Wee\u2019s Big Top<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Rocky<\/em>. Her television shows included\u00a0Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>,\u00a0Modern Family,<\/em>\u00a0S.W.A.T<\/em>. and\u00a0Good Trouble.<\/em><\/p>\n
