While recovering from surgeries, Evans found comfort in television, which inspired him to pursue\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/christmas\/\">acting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always knew I wanted to be a character in the movies,\u201d Evans once said, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2002\/SHOWBIZ\/News\/08\/06\/young.actor.dies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">CNN<\/a>. \u201cWhen I was growing up, I had to have a lot of surgery, and I spent a lot of time recovering at home and in the hospital. Watching movies took me away from my own problems and gave me a total escape.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-breakout-role\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Breakout role<\/h2>\n<p>He began his career in commercials at the age of 12 and made his big-screen debut in the 1999 comedy\u00a0<em>Baby Geniuses<\/em>, playing a toddler despite being a teenager at the time. His death shocked both fans and colleagues \u2013 but what made it even more chilling was the extraordinary timing.<\/p>\n<p>That same day, NBC aired an episode of\u00a0<em>Passions<\/em>\u00a0in which his character, Timmy, died after donating his heart during a charity.<\/p>\n<p>The storyline, taped week\u2019s before Evans\u2019 passing, had not been altered or delayed.
