Healthcare professionals, however, dismissed them, saying they might be \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/teenager\/\">teenage<\/a>\u00a0migraines\u2019. After a visit to the doctor, he was given painkillers and sent on his way home.<\/p>\n<p>However, just days after he turned 14 years old, he suffered from a severe seizure and was rushed to the hospital. He was then placed on life support and diagnosed with a Stage 4 brain tumor, which has been pronounced as untreatable.<\/p>\n<p>Jackie, Max\u2019s mother, explained that her son was on life support for two nights and then taken for an MRI scan, which revealed the extent of his condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that it\u2019s terminal because of the size of the mass on the brain,\u201d the 44-year-old mother said, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s Stage 4 terminal, they say they can\u2019t remove or shrink the growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said her son was completely healthy before this and was a \u2018sporty\u2019 kid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only thing he had leading up to this was frequent headaches that turned into migraines,\u201d she recalled, adding, \u201cThey were there for over a year and we were just fobbed off with ibuprofen.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-150146770\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-b572cc0849eb9ee1e38b25703abe48e5\" class=\"newsner-b572cc0849eb9ee1e38b25703abe48e5 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>After the mother\u2019s statements, in a statement, Hemant Nemade, University Hospitals of Northamptonshire Group Medical Director, shared that, \u201cOur thoughts are with Max and his family at this unimaginably difficult time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking into the circumstances of his care with us to establish what happened in order to learn from this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Due to the location of the tumor in his brain, he was given the option of chemotherapy by the NHS, but his family is now trying to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/gofundme\/?page=2\">crowd fund\u00a0<\/a>for a treatment in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can\u2019t get any worse. There\u2019s literally nothing that they can do for him in the UK. This is Max\u2019s life,\u201d Jackie said.<\/p>\n<p>In Germany, Max would be able to get vaccines that would attempt to kill the cells of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsner.com\/tag\/cancer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">tumor<\/a>\u00a0and slow down their growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s almost a personalized vaccine. They take blood from Max, look at the cells, and create a vaccine personalised to Max\u2019s tumor,\u201d Jackie explained. This treatment would involve Max flying out to Germany every couple of weeks to recieve a dose.<\/p>\n<p>The family is hoping to raise \u00a3250,000 (approximately $335,000). This would help them cover the cost of treatment for a year. The German treatment is not a sure shot cure but it will help Max live a longer life than the treatment offered by the NHS would.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just need him around with us,\u201d Jackie said. She shared that while the diagnosis isn\u2019t positive, Max is. \u201cMax is taking it so well, it\u2019s so great. He\u2019s tired all the time and he\u2019s losing some of his memory. He can\u2019t remember a conversation two minutes ago, and sometimes his speech is jumbled up,\u201d she shared, adding, \u201cBut he\u2019s blown me away with how well he\u2019s doing. We don\u2019t want an end date for him, we want to keep fighting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The family has set up a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/save-our-son-max-hall?attribution_id=sl:99e99b64-8092-4271-bd95-870e9a535ec6&amp;lang=en_GB&amp;ts=1765119082&amp;utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&amp;utm_medium=customer&amp;utm_source=copy_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">GoFundMe<\/a>\u00a0page to help raise funds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We are sending our best wishes and prayers to the family.
