And without 43-year-old Ahmed Al-Ahmed, it could\u2019ve been even worse.<\/p>\n<p>He never hesitated to do what he could to stop the gunmen on Bondi Beach. The 43-year-old, who works as a fruit vendor, sprinted towards one of the gunmen, successfully disarming him as he shot toward people.<\/p>\n<p>Videos of Al-Ahmed tackling and disarming the shooter went viral, and he was praised as a true hero of the day. His actions most likely saved several lives.<\/p>\n<p>The man was shot twice and had undergone surgery for his injuries. As he\u2019s been at the hospital, one influencer decided to do his part in thanking Ahmed Al-Ahmed. Zachery Dereniowski co-organized a GoFundMe fundraiser in his support. Woman, man, teenager, all of this, everyone was happy and they deserve to enjoy and it\u2019s their right. This country, best country in the world, the best country in the world but we\u2019re not going to stand and keep watching, enough is enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cGod protect Australia. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, in an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/bondi-beach-hero-ahmed-al-ahmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">CBS<\/a>, the 43-year-old has revealed new details about the horrifying day at Bondi.
