The\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/dirty-dancing\/\">Dirty Dancing<\/a><\/em>\u00a0star had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer in January 2008 and spoke openly about his battle with the disease in a televised interview with Barbara Walters not long before his death.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick was married to writer and dancer Lisa Niemi at the time and remained a beloved figure in Hollywood for his roles in\u00a0<em>Dirty Dancing<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Ghost<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Road House<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Swayze family\u2019s history has been shaped by repeated heartbreak.
