Born in 1982 in Los Angeles, California, her earliest years were marked by tragedy.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-mom-addict-dad-died-in-prison\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mom addict, dad died in prison<\/h2>\n<p>As an infant, both of her biological parents ended up in prison. Her mother battled addiction and her father later died in a prison riot. I was the woman who never reported because I didn\u2019t want to go through the pain and ridicule,\u201d the actress\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BoP8CaSlWHU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-started-acting-when-she-was-4\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Started acting when she was 4<\/h2>\n<p>The acting bug bit early. She began taking dance classes at just three years old.<\/p>\n<p>At just four years old, she landed a commercial for Oscar Mayer, and soon she was part of a whirlwind TV career. Her catchphrase on the show that made her a household name, \u201cHow rude!\u201d, became instantly iconic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the best one,\u201d she once said. \u201c\u2019Pin a rose on your nose\u2019 is cute. \u2018Hot dog\u2019 was very rarely used, and I feel like it\u2019s kind of unoriginal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But while she grew up as a \u201csoul sister\u201d alongside co-stars like Candace Cameron Bure and the Olsen twins, fame brought its own set of pressures.<\/p>\n<p>To truly grasp just how famous she was as a child star, look at what passed for a \u201cnormal\u201d day in her life at age 12. Nearly 1,500 fans showed up. Six security guards were brought in just to keep things orderly. By the time it was over, she had signed more than 3,000 photos and personal items.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-1164791244\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-cd718bc338d9074238ceaa8c555f9730\" class=\"newsner-cd718bc338d9074238ceaa8c555f9730 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>People waited in line for hours just to catch a glimpse of her, say hello, or nervously ask her out on a date. Most of the crowd, though, was made up of young kids clutching posters and memorabilia, standing patiently beside their parents \u2014 proof of just how deeply she had captured America\u2019s heart at such a young age.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-lost-her-job-at-13\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lost her job at 13<\/h2>\n<p>When the actress turned 13, the show wrapped, and overnight she was cut loose from the TV family that had been her entire world.<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly, the cameras were gone, the routines disappeared, and the sense of belonging she\u2019d known for years vanished just as quickly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrying to figure out who you are at age 13 when you\u2019ve just lost your job that basically identified you for the first part of your life is a little difficult,\u201d she told Good Morning America.<\/p>\n<p>Teen years were turbulent. At 14, she found her first taste of rebellion at a wedding reception, sneaking multiple glasses of wine to boost her confidence. That rebellious streak carried into college, where experimentation with alcohol, ecstasy, and cocaine took hold, even as she navigated her first marriage to a police officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was pulling off the deceit\u2026 I look at photos from that event, and I didn\u2019t even look strung out!\u201d she later admitted.<\/p>\n<p>According to the actress, she turned to drugs because she was \u201dbored.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI was spiraling out of control fairly quickly. I scared a lot of people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-706314025\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-489ec0ad72d4bcaad65a7704aedeb0a3\" class=\"newsner-489ec0ad72d4bcaad65a7704aedeb0a3 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"h-near-fatal-collapse\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Near-fatal collapse<\/h2>\n<p>The L.A. native would hit rock bottom before clawing her way back.<\/p>\n<p>A near-fatal collapse on a sidewalk forced rehab and the difficult work of rebuilding her life. It\u2019s been really good ever since,\u201d she shared about her current husband, Mescal Wasilewski, a\u00a0clinical social worker.<\/p>\n<p>The couple tied the knot in 2022, and at the time, life seemed absolutely perfect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarried life is amazing,\u201d the actress said, \u201cI couldn\u2019t be happier.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-168829348\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-4abfb342647dff8f968a5273e1735299\" class=\"newsner-4abfb342647dff8f968a5273e1735299 newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<h2 id=\"h-heartbreak-and-goodbye\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Heartbreak and goodbye<\/h2>\n<p>But one shadow loomed over her happiness: a personal tragedy hit when she lost her former TV dad,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/celebrity\/bob-sagets-death-the-circumstances-surrounding-the-passing-of-the-beloved-tv-dad-from-full-house\/\">Bob Saget<\/a>. She honored him at her wedding with a poignant nod: \u201cI like kissed the shirt and I was like, \u2018Bob\u2019s here too.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also paid tribute to her late co-star on Instagram. The actress wrote:<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI\u2019ll make sure and tell an inappropriate joke at your funeral. In your honor. I know you would\u2019ve wanted that. But you were supposed to be here longer \u2026 How Rude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Today, her activism has shaped much of her adult life. From standing up for reproductive rights to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, she has never shied away from speaking her truth.<\/p>\n<p>And she continues to dream. When asked about a reboot, she pitched an idea inspired by\u00a0<em>The Golden Girls<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 and cheekily called it\u00a0<em>Fullest House<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIt\u2019s great because I\u2019m getting to work with the writers and the creators of the show.
