(Photo by SGranitz\/WireImage)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s when I realized I was completely alone,\u201d Will, now 33, said about his father in\u00a0<em>Super\/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-it-takes-a-village\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018It takes a village\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>In a deeply personal interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/will-reeve-explains-who-took-care-of-him-after-he-was-orphaned-at-13-8712657\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People<\/a>, Will \u2013 who is the half-brother of Alexandra, 42, and Matthew, 46 \u2013 shared how those around him stepped in during the most difficult period of his life, responding to his circumstances in what he described as an \u201cimpactful way.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-851422505\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-489145f8bee5f32e4995baabc49f350c\" class=\"newsner-489145f8bee5f32e4995baabc49f350c newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI moved in with our beloved neighbors who were our best friends,\u201d he told People in the 2024 interview. \u201cI mean, everybody came through. I think it was an all-hands-on-deck situation\u2026people from the past and people from the present just chipping in however they could always.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cIt\u2019s like they say, it takes a village. And the village responded to our situation in such a substantial and impactful way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That support system became a foundation, ensuring that loss did not define him, even as it shaped the person he would become.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-present-and-engaged-father\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Present and engaged father\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>To the world, Reeve was\u00a0<em>Superman<\/em>\u00a0but to Will, he was a real-life superhero whom he called \u201cdad.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMuch of my time spent with my dad, which ended up only being 12 years, was not spent talking about\u00a0<em>Superman<\/em>\u00a0or any other role that he played. It was much more grounded in our daily existence,\u201d Will said, per the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/11\/entertainment\/christopher-reeves-son-will-how-superman-cast-honored-late-actor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">New York Post<\/a>. \u201cHe was focused much more on being a present and engaged father than he was in regaling me with tales of the old days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cBut he always remembered his time as\u00a0<em>Superman<\/em>, and in making those movies fondly and with a sort of reverence, because he knew how important Superman the character is to so many people worldwide across generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-supporting-people-with-spinal-injuries\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Supporting people with spinal injuries<\/h2>\n<p>Reeve\u2019s portrayal of the Man of Steel \u2013 and his alter, ego Clark Kent \u2013 resonated across generations, but his impact extended far beyond the screen.<\/p>\n<p>After his accident, he dedicated himself to advocacy, helping raise awareness and funding for spinal cord injury research through the Christopher &amp; Dana Reeve Foundation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-1091515236\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-0ec0608d915f857bc3f8ec935196651c\" class=\"newsner-0ec0608d915f857bc3f8ec935196651c newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>Today, Will \u2013 a correspondent for ABC News \u2013 is actively involved with the foundation founded by his parents, where he serves on the board of directors. In that role, he helps support research and programs focused on improving the lives of people with spinal cord injuries, a cause his parents championed throughout their lives.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-will-marries-amanda-dubin\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will marries Amanda Dubin<\/h2>\n<p>As Will continued building his career and honoring his parents\u2019 legacy through his media work and advocacy, his personal life quietly moved into a new chapter.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2023, he and Amanda Dubin shared a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower \u2013 one simple post that made their relationship official.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2024, Will proposed \u2013 disguising the moment as a charity event in Manhattan.
