Memories remain, but many other things are vital during those early years to get the best possible prerequisites for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Being taught to respect others, be polite, take responsibility, or simply be nice to those around us is important. With this, a great responsibility is on the parents. Sadly, not every child gets that, and they are being raised in abusive homes. It is something that never should happen, but sadly, it does.<\/p>\n<p>While many children, heartbreakingly, are scarred for life and don\u2019t climb out of the darkness from what was an abusive childhood, others have. One who did so through his creative expression, becoming one of the biggest stars in the world.<\/p>\n<p>He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, but His father left him and his mother when he was an infant. Over the years, he wrote him letters, but their relationship remained nonexistent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019d tell me he was a good guy: \u2018We don\u2019t know what your mother\u2019s told you, but he was a good guy,&#8217;\u201d he recalled in an interview with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/eminem-the-rolling-stone-interview-3-103720\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rolling Stone Magazine<\/a>. \u201cBut a lot of times he\u2019d call, and I\u2019d be there \u2014 maybe I\u2019d be on the floor coloring or watching TV \u2014 and it wouldn\u2019t have been nothing for him to say, \u2018Put him on the phone.&#8217;\u201d He coulda talked to me, let me know something.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-abandoned-by-his-father-and-bullied-in-school-he-was-beaten-unconscious-at-age-9\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Abandoned by his father and bullied in school, he was beaten unconscious at age 9<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cCause as far as father figures, I didn\u2019t have any in my life. My mother had a lot of boyfriends,\u201d he continued. \u201cSome of \u2019em I didn\u2019t like; some of \u2019em were cool. But a lot would come and go. My little brother\u2019s dad was probably the closest thing I had to a father figure. He was around off and on for about five years. He was the dude who\u2019d play catch, take us bowling, just do stuff that dads would do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he was raised by his mother, but she had a hard time finding steady work. Therefore, they were forced to constantly move between Missouri and Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>They lived in public housing, and he recalled having to change schools constantly. Therefore, having a stable friendship was just a fantasy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would change schools two, three times a year and that was probably the roughest part,\u201d he\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalspy.com\/music\/a281464\/eminem-i-had-a-rough-childhood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201c[I got] beat up in the bathroom, beat up in the hallways, shoved in the lockers, just, for the most part, being the new kid.<\/p>\n<p>When he was nine years old, his mother even sued the Detroit school system for failing to protect him. He was bullied a lot, and at one point, per court papers, he was beaten unconsciously. The bully nailed him in the face with a \u201csnowball containing a heavy object or a piece of ice\u201d while they were playing \u201cKing of the Hill\u201d before beating him up, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2010\/10\/19\/people-mom-of-young-eminem-sued-school-over-bullying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Denver Post<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-branded-a-monster-and-abused-at-home\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Branded a \u201cmonster\u201d and abused at home<\/h2>\n<p>.His mother said he suffered from \u201cnightmares and anti-social behavior,\u201d and suffered from a concussion and a temporary loss of vision in one eye after the attack. Her mother launched a $10,000 lawsuit, but it was eventually dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>While he was raised by his mother, she didn\u2019t do him any good. As he was beaten up in school, he also lived in an abusive home. He accused her of being an alcoholic, smoking marijuana, abusing prescription drugs, and even stealing his paychecks as he grew older. He also accused her of contributing to problems in his upbringing.<\/p>\n<p>However, his mother denied everything. In fact, she even filed a $10 million defamation suit against her son. I didn\u2019t believe in spanking, I never raised my voice to him. I never allowed anybody to raise their voice to him.<\/p>\n<p>A year before, she said, \u201cMarshall was so hateful and mean. He hurt me so bad, and I\u2019m releasing a lot of hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-marshall-mathers-eminem\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Marshall Mathers \u2013 Eminem<\/h2>\n<p>Many things in his childhood were troubling, and the fact that he and his mother were basically the oky caucasians in a predominantly Black area, he experienced a lot of bullying too. He dropped out of school, but it wasn\u2019t necessarily because he simply struggled in the classroom. Instead, he had found another passion in life, which would change a music genre forever: Rapping.<\/p>\n<p>Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem, began his music career at 14, when he seriously considered becoming a rapper. He slammed his mother in several of the songs he released.<\/p>\n<p>On the 2002 track\u00a0<em>Cleanin\u2019 Out My Closet<\/em>, Eminem criticized his mother throughout the song. He even said he was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, rapping, \u201cGoin\u2019 through public housing systems, a victim of M\u00fcnchausen\u2019s Syndrome \/ My whole life I was made to believe I was sick when I wasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eminem would go on to rap extensively about his childhood, using it to reveal personal details from his past. It also marked the year he became a father for the first time with longtime girlfriend Kim Scott. After everything he had been through, the legendary artist knew that he never wanted his children to go through what he had.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-turned-an-abusive-childhood-into-becoming-a-world-star\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Turned an abusive childhood into becoming a world star<\/h2>\n<p>In a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, music journalist Tour\u00e9 explained that he had noticed Marshall being very respectful toward his daughter, Halie, when they were playing. The journalist stated that \u201ca lot of people talk down to little kids, but you talk to her like she\u2019s intelligent.<\/p>\n<p>Eminem\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/eminem-the-rolling-stone-interview-3-103720\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">replied<\/a>, \u201cThank you for seeing that. I just want her and my immediate family \u2014 my daughter, my niece, and my little brother \u2014 to have things I didn\u2019t have: love and material things. But I can\u2019t just buy them things. I have to be there. That\u2019s a cop-out if I just popped up once in a while, didn\u2019t have custody of my daughter and my niece.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, the movie 8 Mile, which Eminem himself starred in and which drew on autobiographical elements from his life, became a huge success. The artist even won an\u00a0<em>Academy Award<\/em>\u00a0for Best Original Song for the tune \u201c<em>Lose Yourself\u201d<\/em>\u00a0from the movie.<\/p>\n<p>In 1997, Kim decided to leave him, taking his daughter with her. It led him down a dark path of substance abuse, turning to alcohol and drugs. But out of that, creativity rose. Besides biological daughter Halie, he also adopted daughters Alaina Marie Scott (Kim\u2019s niece) and Stevie Laine Scott (formerly Whitney, Kim\u2019s daughter. He is living a quiet life with a low-key persona, having stepped away from the spotlight. Still, he makes some appearances and music collaborations.<\/p>\n<p>His mother, Debbie, died in 2024, five years after his father died of a reported heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>With songs such as\u00a0<em>Mockingbird, The Way I Am, Rapo God, Not Afraid, Criminal, Without Me, \u2018Till I Collapse, Stan, and Lose Yourself<\/em>, he is considered one of the best rappers of all time and highly respected in the music business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We hope Eminem\u2019s life and childhood can serve as an inspiration to many who don\u2019t see a bright future for themselves.
