You know, I was just full speed ahead, I\u2019m doing my job, you know, travelling the world, doing my thing, living my best life,\u201d\u00a0<a id=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/celebrity-deaths\/\" href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/celebrity-deaths\/\" type=\"link\">Schilling<\/a>\u00a0told the host.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut all of those symptoms were happening in my body, and I wasn\u2019t paying attention. There was pain, there was constipation \u2013 I hadn\u2019t been to the toilet for three weeks by the time it became acute, and I somehow managed to ignore that.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-must-toughen-up\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Must \u2018toughen up\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Schilling also spoke openly about how women\u2019s health concerns are sometimes minimized, particularly when symptoms involve abdominal pain, which can often be attributed to hormonal or menstrual causes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticularly as women, if we have symptoms in the abdominal region generally we say \u2018I\u2019ve got to toughen up \u2013 that\u2019s something to do with my cycle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOr, \u2018It\u2019s a hormonal issue,\u2019 and we\u2019ve grown up knowing every month we have pain and we just have to get on with it. So, we have that tendency to grin and bear it, and I think there is a flow there to the medical profession where they are very quick to dismiss a woman with pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-my-light-is-starting-to-fade\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018My light is starting to fade\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>In her March Instagram post, Schilling shared the devastating news that the cancer had spread to her brain after she began experiencing severe symptoms that could no longer be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>She revealed that in December 2025, she \u201cbegan experiencing blinding headaches,\u201d and later learned \u201cthe cancer had spread to the left side of my brain,\u201d with doctors ultimately telling her that \u201cthere is nothing further they can do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In her final message to followers, she shared an emotional update reflecting both courage and acceptance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo that\u2019s where I am now. My light is starting to fade \u2013 and quickly. For that, I will be forever thankful,\u201d he wrote, describing her as \u201can incredible mom\u201d and a \u201crole model and soulmate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While her family remembers her strength and compassion, her story is also a reminder of how important it is to recognize the warning signs of colon cancer early.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-symptoms-of-colon-cancer\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Symptoms of colon cancer<\/h2>\n<p>Colon cancer does not always cause obvious symptoms early on and many people do not realize anything is wrong until the disease has progressed.<\/p>\n<p>Health experts note that warning signs can vary depending on the size of the tumor and where it develops in the large intestine.<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/colon-cancer\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20353669\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Mayo Clinic<\/a>, symptoms include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ongoing changes in bathroom habits, including more frequent constipation or diarrhea than usual<\/li>\n<li>Blood appearing in the stool or rectal bleeding<\/li>\n<li>Persistent abdominal discomfort, such as cramping, pressure, bloating, or pain<\/li>\n<li>Feeling as though the bowel is not fully empty after a bowel movement<\/li>\n<li>Constant fatigue or unusual weakness that does not improve with rest<\/li>\n<li>Unexplained weight loss without changes to diet or physical activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Understanding these symptoms and seeking medical advice early can improve outcomes and increase the chances of successful treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Schilling concluded her March 12 Instagram post: \u201cIf I could leave you with one thing, it would simply be this: if something doesn\u2019t feel right, please get it checked out.
