Christopher North, the founding keyboardist of Ambrosia, has passed away at the age of 75.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The band confirmed the news in a statement shared on Facebook, honoring his life and legacy: \u201cFans of Ambrosia, we honor the legendary life and career of our dearest family member Christopher North, the \u2018Hammond B3 King\u2019 whose sonic architecture defined a generation of progressive and soft rock,\u201d the message read.<\/p>\n

\u201cA founding member since 1970, he was a keyboard wizard who brought an unmatched intensity and emotional depth to every performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tribute went on to reflect on his powerful presence on stage: \u201cWe will always remember \u2018Northwind\u2019 for his fiery, \u2018intense\u2019 stage presence\u2014a legacy that began when he was first discovered playing in a dimly lit room, his organ topped with a bottle of wine.\u201d<\/p>\n

While no official cause of death has been disclosed, the band noted that North had \u201cfaced health challenges in recent years, including a brave and successful battle with throat cancer.\u201d Despite this, \u201chis spirit remained tied to the music and the fans he loved.\u201d<\/p>\n

North co-founded Ambrosia in 1970 alongside David Pack, Joe Puerta, and Burleigh Drummond. Although he briefly left the group in 1977, he later returned and continued contributing to their signature sound. The band is known for hits like Biggest Part of Me, How Much I Feel, and Holdin\u2019 on to Yesterday.<\/p>\n
