The American-born leader of the Catholic Church from Chicago, Illinois, has repeatedly replied to Trump\u2019s attacks in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, April 12, Trump posted a long rant on\u00a0<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116394704213456431\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Truth Social<\/a>\u00a0about Pope Leo, calling him \u201cWEAK on Crime\u201d and \u201cterrible for Foreign Policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_14-0\">\u201cI don\u2019t want a Pope who thinks it\u2019s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon,\u201d Trump wrote on social media. \u201cI don\u2019t want a Pope who thinks it\u2019s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pope Leo has spoken out against Donald Trump\u2019s war in Iran and as he was on his way to a tour, he stated that he is undeterred by the U.S President\u2019s criticism.<\/p>\n<p>The leader of the Catholic Church added that he will continue to speak out against war and promote peace. Leo added that global conflicts like the one in Iran is causing a lot of human suffering, and insisted that moral leadership requires advocating for other options than violence.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-jd-vance-accuses-pope-leo-of-interfering-in-u-s-public-policy\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">JD Vance accuses Pope Leo of interfering in U.S public policy<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI will continue to speak out loudly against war, looking to promote peace, promoting dialogue and multilateral relationships among states to find just solutions to problems,\u201d Pope Leo told reporters. \u201cToo many people are suffering in the world today. Too many innocent people are being killed. And I think someone has to stand up and say there\u2019s a better way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Donald Trump is now not the only Trump administration official to speak out against Pope Leo. When appearing on Fox News on Monday, April 13, Vice President JD Vance also did.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-2136788519\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-6fd0e5aee599ce425d6cca5b1d79727a\" class=\"newsner-6fd0e5aee599ce425d6cca5b1d79727a newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>When asked about Donald Trump\u2019s criticism of the leader of the Catholic Church, VAnce, criticized the American pope. He also accused Leo of interfering in U.S public policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI certainly think that in some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality,\u201d Vance told Fox News\u2019 Brett Baier. \u201cTo stick to matters of, you know, what\u2019s going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the United States stick to dictating American public policy. But when they\u2019re in conflict, they\u2019re in conflict.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-converted-to-catholicism-as-an-adult\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Converted to Catholicism as an adult<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t worry too much about it, Brett,\u201d the VP added.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few weeks ago, JD Vance announced a new memoir named Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, in which he described his conversion to Catholicism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommunion is about my personal journey and how I found my way back to faith.\u201d JD Vance wrote on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JDVance\/status\/2038982807536492876\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">X\u00a0<\/a>to promote the book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thoughts on this?
