{"id":4619,"date":"2025-01-26T16:13:19","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T16:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news-vm.com\/?p=4619"},"modified":"2025-01-26T16:13:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T16:13:19","slug":"giant-wolf-sits-down-next-to-woman-in-viral-moment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news-vm.com\/?p=4619","title":{"rendered":"Giant wolf sits down next to woman in viral moment"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"show-inline-featured-image wp-caption alignnone\">\n<figure class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-main-thumbnail size-main-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/10\/05223608\/wolf-woman.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 664px) 100vw, 664px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/10\/05223608\/wolf-woman.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/10\/05223608\/wolf-woman-400x210.jpg 400w\" alt=\"\" width=\"664\" height=\"350\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Wolves\u00a0have a reputation for being aggressive and fierce creatures, and many people, including me, would be\u00a0downright frightened to actually meet one face to face.<\/p>\n<p>The large grey wolf seen walking alongside Danielle in the beginning is named Kekoa, which in Hawaiian means \u201cbrave one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kekoa isn\u2019t quite like other wolves, and she certainly doesn\u2019t match the stereotype.<\/p>\n<p>While she still demands a certain respect, she also seems to have great respect for people \u2013 particularly a woman named Danielle.<\/p>\n<p>Kekoa lives the good life at the\u00a0Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, an animal sanctuary near Colorado Springs.<\/p>\n<p>Like the sanctuary\u2019s other animals, she lives there because she is unable to survive in the wild.<\/p>\n<p>Danielle is a staff member who has developed an incredible friendship with the large wolf.<\/p>\n<p>When I first saw Kekoa and Danielle playing together, my jaw dropped. It\u2019s a magical and surreal sight, especially when you realize how big Kekoa is compared to Danielle.<\/p>\n<p>As brave and noble as he looks, he\u2019s also a big baby and I mean real big! He weighs in at 115 pounds and when he places his front paws up on a persons shoulders he comes in at about 7 feet tall!<\/p>\n<p>And just when you think you\u2019ve seen it all, another wolf named Sakura comes along and also wants to cuddle.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-27024 lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/10\/05221706\/wolve.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"355\" data-src=\"https:\/\/cdn-main.newsner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/2017\/10\/05221706\/wolve.jpg\" data-eio-rwidth=\"600\" data-eio-rheight=\"355\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In an interview with The Dodo wildlife center staffer Michelle Smith explained:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince he was raised by people and bottle fed from the time he was born, he is very well socialized, meaning he enjoys the company of people. This is not the same as domesticated or tame. He is still a \u2018wild\u2019 animal, and he does tend to show it when he is around his sister.
