Despite the efforts of 300 first responders to render aid, no survivors were found.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-31643\" src=\"https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62-1024x682.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62-1024x682.png 1024w, https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62-1536x1024.png 1536w, https:\/\/dailypositiveinfo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-62.png 2000w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Source:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freepik.com\/free-photo\/airplane-captain-throttling-engine-takeoff-fly-jet-cockpit-flying-plane-using-dashboard-command-control-panel-buttons-looking-windscreen-radar-compass-taking-off-close-up_31195977.htm#fromView=search&amp;page=1&amp;position=24&amp;uuid=7a4d626b-32b8-4184-97eb-d5bdd3ad9bac&amp;new_detail=true&amp;query=pilot\">Freepik<\/a><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the closing seconds before the crash, 34-year-old pilot Campos and his 28-year-old co-pilot Lilley tried to lift the plane up, according to data from the aircraft\u2019s black box.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAt one point very close to the impact, there was a slight change in pitch, an increase in pitch,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) official Todd Inman stated during a press conference on Saturday, February 1.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, according to the safety board, the control tower\u2019s recording of the plane\u2019s height at the time of the crash did not match the preliminary data from the aircraft\u2019s flight recorder (via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2025\/02\/01\/us\/black-hawk-helicopter-training-plane-crash\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the moment of contact, the flight recorder reported the helicopter\u2019s altitude at about 325 feet, whereas the control tower recorded it at 200 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Although investigations are still underway, if the crash did occur at 325 feet, it would have indicated that the helicopter had risen above the 200-foot maximum altitude at which helicopters are permitted to fly in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cObviously an impact occurred, and I would say when an impact occurs, that is typically where the altitude of both aircraft were at the moment,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Iman continued, adding that they do not have the data from the helicopter.<\/p>\n<p>Campos spoke with his uncle on the phone before the collision.<\/p>\n<p>His uncle John Lane told the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14347733\/american-eagle-pilot-jonathan-campos-final-words-dc-plane-crash.html\">MailOnline<\/a>\u00a0that he talked to his nephew\u00a0<strong>\u201cfor 10 minutes\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0when he was getting on the plane and that he\u00a0<strong>\u201csounded really happy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He said:\u00a0<strong>\u201cI can\u2019t believe it. He sounded really happy. He was looking forward to going on a cruise next week on the Icon of the Seas, the cruise ship.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cTen family members were going to fly to Florida to take the trip with him. (DCA) was involved in an accident at DCA. The flight was operated by PSA Airlines with a CRJ-700.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThere were 60 passengers and four crew members on board the aircraft.
