Stephen Hawking\u2019s prophecy that the world will end sooner rather than later is coming true.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before he died, one of the most well-known scientists in the world made a fairly depressing forecast regarding our planet.<\/p>\n

According to the author of The Theory of Everything, we have roughly 600 years left.<\/p>\n

Prior to his death in 2018, he made the prediction that unless we make significant changes, some factors, such population increase and energy use, could convert the planet into a\u00a0\u201cgiant ball of fire.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the time, the physicist revealed that the world\u2019s population was doubling every 40 years.<\/p>\n

He explained, at the Tencent WE Summit at the end of 2017:\u00a0\u201cThis exponential growth cannot continue into the next millennium,\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cBy the year 2600, the world\u2019s population would be standing shoulder to shoulder, and the electricity consumption would make the Earth glow red-hot.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is untenable,\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFor more than 50 years, NASA has studied our home planet, providing information to directly benefit humanity and producing observations that can be gathered in space that address some of the areas that Hawking mentioned,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the agency said in response to the threat to the world as we know it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough the chance of a disaster to planet Earth in a given year may be quite low, it adds up over time and becomes a near certainty in the next thousand or 10,000 years,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the scientist told the BBC in 2016.<\/p>\n

He said that climate change, the greenhouse effect, and global warming would all be to blame.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Hawking accurately foresaw that nuclear war, artificial intelligence, and pandemics would pose major hazards to the planet.<\/p>\n
