Yesterday, March 3, around 5:30 p.m. CT, only ten minutes after taking off from Starbase in Texas, the Starship spaceship encountered issues, lost contact with ground control, and blew into pieces.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the day, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/launches\/mission\/?missionId=starship-flight-8\">report<\/a>\u00a0analyzing the test was published on SpaceX\u2019s website. The flight test was Starship\u2019s second attempt to launch simulated satellites this year, but it was also the eighth test overall.<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p>The Super Heavy booster\u00a0<strong>\u201csuccessfully lit its 33 Raptor engines and propelled Starship through a nominal first-stage ascent,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0according to the explanation, and\u00a0<strong>\u201cabout two and a half minutes into flight, the Super Heavy booster shut down all but three of its Raptor engines as planned for hot-staging separation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-8\">\n<div id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-104\">\n<p>However, the Super Heavy booster\u2019s ascension took a turn after it successfully relighted 11 of the 13 Raptor engines that were scheduled and executed a\u00a0<strong>\u201cboostback burn to return itself to the launch site.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The report details:\u00a0<strong>\u201cPrior to the end of the ascent burn, an energetic event in the aft portion of Starship resulted in the loss of several Raptor engines. This in turn led to a loss of attitude control and ultimately a loss of communications with Starship.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the study,<strong>\u00a0\u201cFinal contact with Starship came approximately nine minutes and 30 seconds after liftoff.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0This outcome also caused the spacecraft to undergo\u00a0<strong>\u201ca rapid unscheduled
