Jennifer Lee Wilson has now been charged with reckless homicide following the death of Dakota Levi Stevens in Berrien County, Michigan. He reportedly threw himself on the ground outside. Following this, Wilson allegedly sat on the boy, putting pressure on his head and neck, while on the phone with his case worker \u2013 he was reportedly screaming at this point.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3546\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3546\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3546\" src=\"https:\/\/dtop.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/6015238-683x1024.avif\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dtop.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/6015238-683x1024.avif 683w, https:\/\/dtop.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/6015238-200x300.avif 200w, https:\/\/dtop.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/6015238-768x1152.avif 768w, https:\/\/dtop.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/6015238.avif 940w\" alt=\"\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3546\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The 10-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital and was taken off life support just two days later (Image: NBS)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She told police that she sat on the boy for around five minutes before he stopped moving, claiming she thought he was pretending when he went quiet.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota, who had been placed in this home for around a month, was then rolled over where Wilson noted that his eyelids were unusually pale.<\/p>\n<p>Another child swiftly called emergency services, but the foster boy had already stopped breathing and had no pulse when they arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Dakota, who weighed 6.5 stone, was airlifted away to hospital where he remained on life support for two days before he was taken off and tragically died.<\/p>\n<p>An autopsy found Dakota had suffered catastrophic injuries, including organ and soft tissue damage and liver and lung haemorrhaging, while the cause of death was mechanical asphyxia.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-11\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1730331\" data-uid=\"01a22\">\n<div id=\"mgw1730331_01a22\">\n<div>\n<div class=\"mgbox\">\n<div class=\"mgheader\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 10-year-old boy has died after his 24-stone-heavy foster mother sat on him for misbehaving.
