Sin<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Konanki and an unidentified man had their arms around each other\u2019s backs as they strolled with other friends.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear what time the still was captured; however, authorities said the group was partying at a disco around 3 a.m. before they went to the beach around 4 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Konanki traveled with five friends from Pitt to the sunny Caribbean island and was swimming\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/09\/us-news\/young-man-seen-swimming-with-missing-pitt-student-in-punta-cana-questioned-by-police-report\/\">with a \u201cyoung man\u201d leading up<\/a>\u00a0to her sudden disappearance.<\/p>\n<p>She had been with six other people on the beach Wednesday before most of the group called it a night, leaving her on the sand\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/03\/10\/us-news\/pitt-student-sudiksha-konankis-friend-says-he-passed-out-and-she-was-gone\/\">alone with Joshua Steven Ribe, a fellow guest<\/a>\u00a0at the Caribbean resort, according to local reports.<\/p>\n<p>Ribe, 24, who traveled to the Dominican Republic from Iowa, gave authorities three different accounts of what happened after the two were alone on the beach, first telling cops he threw up from the rough surf and went back to shore \u2014 but asked Konanki if she was OK, according to Dominican media.<\/p>\n<p>In the second version, he allegedly said he felt sick to his stomach and left the water, last seeing the missing woman in knee-deep surf before passing out.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image
