Charli and Cullen\u2019s genetic conditions mean their children could inherit one type of dwarfism (either their mom\u2019s or their dad\u2019s), or they could be of\u00a0average height, or they could inherit both types of dwarfism, which doctors say would be fatal.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-74e48d88653d0e646b50c1727a1e6d43\" class=\"newsner-74e48d88653d0e646b50c1727a1e6d43\"><\/div>\n<p>Charli revealed the heartache of not being able to enjoy the 12 week point in her pregnancy like most other moms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever when most at 12 weeks are celebrating the joy of being able to announce pregnancy, I was lining up for Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS \u2013 similar to an Amniocentesis) \u2013 that\u2019s a massive needle through my abdomen to take a sample of placenta that carries a 2% rate of miscarriage, in order to test the genetic makeup of my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-1702931070\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-18eb562b0e5413bb41edde0e1988912f\" class=\"newsner-18eb562b0e5413bb41edde0e1988912f newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>Their daughters two-year-old Tully and four-year-old Tilba have one of the two types of dwarfism, so when Charli fell pregnant with her third baby they waited to find out which of the four possibilities their baby had.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B5tEEwzn2xV\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=1280&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fen.newsner.com&amp;rp=%2Ffamily%2Five-copped-criticism-couple-with-dwarfism-have-children-against-all-the-odds%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1611.699999988079%7D\" height=\"1544\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>1. We would have a baby of average height<br \/>\n2. Our baby would have Achondroplasia, the same form of Dwarfism as me.<br \/>\n3. Our baby would have Geleophysic Dysplasia, the same form of Dwarfism as Cullen.<br \/>\n4. Our baby would inherit both genetic variations, know as \u201cdouble dominant dwarfism\u201d, which from all professional medical evaluations would be fatal upon birth. I would have had the choice should this occur to carry on and see how things go, or to terminate the pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Charli said the reality of their situation is she was waiting to find out: \u201cIf I can bring this little one into the world come March 2021, or if his or her journey finishes here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sharing her life so publicly she has been exposed to a lot of criticism and also addresses this in her post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve copped criticism for choosing to have babies with these odds and that\u2019s a whole conversation in itself, however by sharing this tiny piece of the puzzle those who doubt can see that bringing a child into this world with my odds is no simple decision and it\u2019s all about being kind ?\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-1\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CMSy6JDnwUm\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=1280&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fen.newsner.com&amp;rp=%2Ffamily%2Five-copped-criticism-couple-with-dwarfism-have-children-against-all-the-odds%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A1%2C%22os%22%3A1613%7D\" height=\"1112\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-1\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Now the couple have three beautiful children who are all thriving and the family continues to share their ups and downs.<\/p>\n<p>Her baby boy Rip was born at the end of February and she shared a post with a picture of her with her newborn alongside some wise words for every parent.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-585891295\" class=\"newsner-article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"newsner-fd28b36d0a8ad86840f4d9706956869b\" class=\"newsner-fd28b36d0a8ad86840f4d9706956869b newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m tired but I\u2019m feeling ever so grateful and lucky.
