signed a staggering number of executive orders (EO) \u2013 totalling over 100 so far.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Just a few days ago, the POTUS signed an EO concerning the running of American elections,\u00a0which has been widely criticized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">He\u2019s also put out EOs to\u00a0rename the Gulf of Mexico\u00a0to the Gulf of America, an order\u00a0eradicating the Department of Education, and one that could\u00a0have a massive impact on medical patients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">And yesterday (March 27), he signed off on another demanding the \u2018restoration of Federal parks, monuments, memorials, statues, markers\u2019 alongside ensuring the Smithsonian \u2018celebrates\u00a0American\u00a0history\u2019 and \u2018greatness\u2019.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jw-player_container__wuaGn\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\">\n<div id=\"player-1\" class=\"jwplayer jw-reset jw-state-idle jw-stretch-uniform jw-flag-aspect-mode to \u2018restore\u2019 Federal parks, monuments, memorials, statues, and the Smithsonian<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The White House\u2019s website\u00a0states\u00a0the order as directing Vice President JD Vance \u2013 \u2018as a member of the Smithsonian Board of Regents\u2019 \u2013 to \u2018work to eliminate improper, divisive, or anti-American ideology from the Smithsonian\u2019 \u2013 the Smithsonian being a group of museums, education and research centers \u2013 alongside \u2018the National Zoo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The order also directs the Administration to work with\u00a0Congress\u00a0to ensure the \u2018future Smithsonian appropriations prohibit funding for exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values, divide Americans by race, or promote ideologies inconsistent with Federal law\u2019 and \u2018celebrate women\u2019s achievements in the American Women\u2019s\u00a0History\u00a0Museum and do not recognize men as women\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">The order doesn\u2019t just impact museums and centers either, also directed the \u2018Secretary of the Interior\u2019 to \u2018restore Federal parks, monuments, memorials, statues, markers, or similar properties that have been improperly removed or changed in the last five years to perpetuate a false revision of history or improperly minimize or disparage certain historical figures or events\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">But why is the order targeting the Smithsonian Institution?<\/p>\n<div ideology\u2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Well, under the subheading \u2018Combating Corrosive Ideology,\u2019 the order alleges that former US President Joe Biden\u2019s administration \u2018pushed a divisive ideology that reconstrued America\u2019s promotion of liberty as fundamentally flawed, infecting revered institutions like the Smithsonian and national parks with false narratives\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">And despite \u2018once [being] revered throughout the world as a symbol of American excellence,\u2019 the Smithsonian \u2018has recently promoted divisive ideology that American and Western values are harmful\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">It goes on to list several exhibitions or examples of such \u2018divisive ideology\u2019 from the American Art Museum featuring an exhibit that \u2018purports to address how \u2018sculpture has been a powerful tool in promoting scientific racism\u2019 and claims that the United States has \u201c\u2018sed race to establish and maintain systems of power, privilege, and disenfranchisement\u2019 to the \u2018American Women\u2019s History Museum[\u2018s] plans to celebrate
