The former NFL player, who rose to popularity on Dancing with the Stars, has received tributes since the Baltimore Sun first reported on it.

The Ravens released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened to hear of Jacoby Jones’ passing.” Jacoby had a special talent for relating to everyone he met. He had a unique presence that could light up any space or make any gloomy day brighter because of his charm, happiness, and love. In addition to his accomplishments on the football field, Jacoby will be remembered for his lifelong relationships with innumerable members of the Baltimore community, the Ravens organization, and every neighborhood he called home. As we all start to cope with this terrible loss, we send Jacoby’s family our sincerest condolences.

The statement by the Texans read, “We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jacoby Jones. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.”

Torrey Smith paid homage to Jacoby with a series of throwback pictures on X. He called Jacoby his “brother” and expressed gratitude for their shared memories and Jacoby’s impact on the world.

Jacoby’s conversation with his mother in the end zone before to a late-game kickoff return against the Vikings in a snowstorm shootout was my favorite football play. After then, Jacoby sprinted to grab the ball and return it for a score.

“Every time I saw Jacoby’s joyful smile, it was my favorite personal moment. Jacoby, may you rest in peace in Jesus’ embrace.

Jacoby started his coaching career at Lane College in 2018 as the wide receivers coach. He went on to coach the receivers at Baltimore’s Calvert Hall High School and the tight ends at Morgan State. He progressed to become Alabama State’s receivers coach in 2022.

Three days after turning 40, Jacoby passed away.
