On Thursday, March 20, 2025, at approximately 7 a.m. ET, a shooting occurred in the parking garage of Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, located about 24 miles north of Detroit, Michigan. The incident involved two hospital employees and was described as a targeted atck stemming from a recent dispute.

The sh0ter fired five shots, striking a 25-year-old male victim twice in the arm. The victim was promptly treated in the hospital’s emergency department and is currently in stable condition. Following the sh0ting, the hospital was placed under lockdown, and nearby schools implemented additional security measures as law enforcement agencies, including helicopters and K9 units, conducted a search for the suspect.

The shooter was apprehended without incident around 9:30 a.m. in Macomb Township, approximately 20 miles northeast of the hospital. The suspect and victim were reportedly acquaintances who had recently experienced a falling out. ​

An emergency alert was issued to local residents, advising them to avoid the area and shelter in place during the incident. The hospital has since resumed normal operations, and law enforcement commended the swift response of both hospital staff and officers
