Blue State Democrat Senator Faces New Felony Charges after Getting Caught in Jaw-Dropping Burglary, Facing Calls to Resignt

In a scandal that has shaken the state of Minnesota, Democrat State Senator Nicole Mitchell has been charged with a new felony following her arrest for breaking and entering. Senate Republicans have urged her to resign amid the ongoing criminal investigation, which has persisted for several months as the Democrat attempts to evade incarceration.

For context, Senator Nicole Mitchell was apprehended at her stepmother’s residence and was initially charged with possession of burglary tools. She claims that her intention was to retrieve her late father’s laptop and expressed her hope that the incident would not “f**k up her life.”

Criticizing the Democrat for her stubbornness, Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson insisted that she resign. He stated, “The circus surrounding the Senate needs to stop. We have real business to attend to: balancing a budget, addressing fraud, and prioritizing Minnesotans. Senate Democrats must show that they are committed to resolving issues in a bipartisan way and do the right thing: end the sideshow and allow the voters to select a new senator.”

Although she was initially charged with a single felony, the Senator has now faced an additional charge after successfully postponing her trial for nearly two years. According to her attorney, the new charges are sufficiently distinct that they may cause further delays in the proceedings. He remarked, “It also means that she is entitled to a new omnibus hearing.”

In light of the situation, Senate Republicans have lodged an ethics complaint against the beleaguered Democrat. The document commenced by identifying the legislators who sought her removal, stating, “Senators Bahr, Draheim, Drazkowski, Green, Housley, Lieske, Lucero, Utke, and Wesenberg, each being first duly sworn, state and allege under oath the following based upon information and belief:”

In conclusion of their complaint, the Republicans detailed the specific rules that she breached. They stated, “Sen. Mitchell violated Senate Rules 56.1, 56.2, and 56.3 by unlawfully entering the home of an elderly relative, attempting to steal the victim’s personal belongings, and subsequently trying to conceal her actions by disseminating contradictory information.”

Accompanying the same document was a statement from the officers who apprehended Mitchell. The police reported, “Detroit Lakes police officers were dispatched to a residence in Detroit Lakes in Becker County following a report of a break-in. The reporting individual, a known adult female (hereinafter referred to as “Victim”), indicated that the suspect had fled to the basement. Officer Ethan Wothe arrived at the Victim’s residence. Upon entering, Officer Wothe heard noises coming from the basement.”

To provide further context, the document stated, “Officer Wothe and Officer Sternhagen conducted a search of the basement and soon discovered a female clad in all black attire and a black hat. The female, later identified as Nicole Lynn Mitchell (DOB: 10-10-1974), was instructed to lie on the ground and was subsequently arrested. While in custody, Mitchell remarked to the Victim something along the lines of, “I was just trying to retrieve a few of my dad’s belongings because you wouldn’t communicate with me anymore.”

In a light-hearted moment during the proceedings, Officer Wothe recounted his exchange with the suspect. He noted, “Mitchell claimed she had “just entered the house” and remarked, “clearly I’m not good at this.’
