NEW: Biden Family Member Files For Divorce

Former President Joe Biden’s daughter has initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, Dr. Howard Krein, who has been associated with allegations of influence peddling and corruption concerning the former first family.

Ashley Biden submitted the divorce filing in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Monday. On the same day, the former first daughter shared an Instagram Story that “showcased a photo of her strolling through a park and giving a thumbs-up, accompanied by the song ‘Freedom’ by Beyoncé,” as reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer, which was the first to announce the divorce.

Additionally, she shared a quote stating: “New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won’t look or sound like they did before.”

Divorce records are publicly accessible in Philadelphia; however, the reasons for the separation have not been revealed as of this report. Biden and Krein had been married for 13 years after their wedding in Greenville, Delaware in 2012.

The couple was reportedly introduced by Ashley’s late brother, Beau, who passed away following a battle with cancer in 2015.

Krein proposed after obtaining permission from “Pops” in 2011, according to a report from People magazine at that time. “This is the right guy,” stated Biden, who was serving as vice president at the time. “And he’s getting a helluva woman.”

While Ashley Biden has generally remained out of the national limelight, she did briefly reference her recent wedding when introduced by her father at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. “At that time, my dad was vice president, but he was also that dad who literally organized the entire reception,” she recounted to the audience.

Krein, 59, serves as an otolaryngologist and plastic surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals located in Philadelphia. The couple resided in Philadelphia before their divorce.

In October 2020, Breitbart News disclosed that Krein was providing counsel to the Biden Campaign regarding COVID-19 strategies while simultaneously investing in companies focused on coronavirus responses, as he held the position of chief medical officer at StartUp Health. This company primarily concentrates on ‘moonshot’ investments within the healthcare sector, which had strong connections to the Obama Administration during Joe Biden’s tenure as vice president.

Ashley Biden has also been associated with her family’s dubious business activities. In 2023, it was reported that the Archewell Foundation, founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, contributed $250,000 to Women’s Wellness (Spa)ce, a wellness center for women in Philadelphia established by the president’s daughter.

The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a conservative oversight organization, accused the Philadelphia-based entity, which identifies itself as a ‘trauma-informed wellness center,’ of breaching financial reporting laws due to its failure to disclose information. Ashley Biden’s nonprofit did not report the $250,000 donation from Archewell in its 2023 tax returns, leading the NLPC to submit a complaint to the IRS.

Ashley was recently in the headlines when President Donald Trump declared that she and her brother, Hunter, would no longer receive Secret Service protection.
