The Father Of A Girl With Cancer Who Died In The American Airlines Disaster Shares A Text That Led Him To Believe Something Was Not Right

A father who lost his wife and 12-year-old daughter in the tragic American Airlines crash has shared his thoughts on what made him realize something was wrong.

On January 29, a PSA Airlines plane collided mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington D.C. The plane, carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, and the helicopter crashed into the Potomac River. All 64 people on board the plane and 3 on the helicopter are believed to have died.

Andy Beyer, who was waiting to pick up his wife Justyna and daughter Brielle after a figure skating event, became worried when the plane failed to land on time and he couldn’t get through to them. His worst fears were confirmed when an air traffic controller friend confirmed the crash.

Beyer described his daughter, a cancer survivor and aspiring figure skater, as a fighter who lived life to the fullest. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family during this tragic time.
